Place: DeSoto Comments: Ok, SNL, you ask for it! Eli, my 3 mo. old grandson took his first trip to Walmart. I think this picture will say it all. As my daughter posted on the pic. Walmart culture shock. Here it comes.

Place: Garland USA Comments: SNL, I sent Tommy a message recently on Facebook and I sure hope his surgery goes well. What a friend Charles Moss is to him and to all of us! Don't know if any of you saw the funny post from John Southworth on Facebook about being afraid to get out for fear of attack by pirates? Talk about keeping a chin up! He always keeps us smiling in good times and in bad. I hope he is recovering too. Really great news from Doc about Mr. Jobe as well.
Place: Richardson Comments: Doc, that is indeed great news!!! Please pass along my congrats to Ronnie on his cancer free check-up!! He certainly had my thoughts & prayers as well as many from this grp!! How are you & Shirley doing these days? Hopeful both of you are much better!
Place: Southlake Comments: Here is some good news. Talked to Ronnie Jobe yesterday. He had his foffow up visit with the doctor and is now cancer free. And does not need treatment.
Place: Richardson Comments: I saw it on Noon news & read abt it in this mrngs paper. This is what they released - Her name was Judy Elliott & she was in her 60s& been married for 38 yrs. she's still in critical condition. Don't think it wd be our Mary, as her middle name wasn't Judy. She wd also have had to keep her maiden name & back then that didn't happen much. But thanks for being alert as some of ya'lls leads have helped us find lost classmates!
Place: Garland Comments: Hey SNL - I hate to bring a bad note into this but I was watching the news this morning and they were talking about the pastor in Arlington that was killed and his assistant that was beaten - her name was Mary Elliott - that is not the same Mary Elliott that we went to school with is it? I can't remember if she got married or not! I know that she lived across the street from me when i went to JNB and she came to one of the reunions but lost track of her after that. Just asking.
Place: Richardson Comments: Karen Hughes - Yes, when we're used to our spouses being gone for several days at a time & then suddenly they're around 24/7!! It can be a scary thing!! Remember, mine retired last yr!!! ![]() KMD - I've seen them on Campbell where there's lots of open lots & at Campbell & Murphy Rd, but never just sauntering across Murphy rd that close to all the stores! Geez, that's why my cat is an indoor kitty!
Place: Sachse Comments: I'm keeping Tommy in prayer for a successful surgery and renewed health, as well as improved health for his ailing Mom. We are thinking positive thoughts for you and your Mom, Tommy. Karen H., I know what you mean. ![]() SNL, I have been meaning to tell you that I saw a coyote not far from your home about 3 weeks ago. Mike and I were returning home from church and proceeding down Murphy Rd. about half a mile from your turnoff street. It was around noon, broad daylight, populated area, and the coyote just sauntered across Murphy Road right in front of us like he was heading down to the store for some beef jerkey or something.

Place: Bosque County, TX Comments: SNL - I agree - life long friends are just the best! Here's my happy for today - Jimmie's working!!! He's cutting cedar trees for some folks down here - it's his "part-time" job! Now - when do all his buddies up there start playing golf again!! He's been playing all winter - by himself mostly! Oh, I'm not complaining - but at times it does seem we are together alot!!! ![]() Everyone have a great day!!
Place: Just thinking?? Comments: Hey Gang - I know many of us have lost one or both parents, some have lost our spouse, child, bother/sister or grandchild. As we've all come to realize . . . we're getting older & we can't keep our loved ones on this earth forever. But here's the uplifting news. We have each other here on the GB, at minis & via Em or pho!!! This is a great group of classmates & friends who care about each other & actually show it! I know what it feels like to be sad & to feel vulnerable & scared. But I also know how much different I felt when so many of you were there for me when my Dad passed away on 3-17-09. You made me feel like there would be a brighter tomorrow!! Please, don't think because we post a sad note that it would be disrespectful to later post a funny or silly note, or to do what we do best . . . make fun of each other!! Laughter can ease many a pain & helps heal broken hearts. So be happy today & try to share your happiness with someone else. We either make ourselves sad or we make ourselves happy. Both take the same effort!! Where are Smiley, Nance & Ada Ann & KMD when you need them??? C'mon, it's cloudy here . . . I need some sunshine & smiles from you guys!! ![]()
Place: Allen, TX Comments: This is unbelievable. Tommy is definitely in need of our prayers.
Place: FW Comments: Thanks for letting us know, Sandy. Tommy's such a good guy and he's gone through a lot lately. He'll definitely be in my prayers. |
