Please start making plans to attend our 60th Reunion! The cost for all the fun is $50 per person. When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 Where: Holiday Inn, 5110 N. President George Bush Hwy. Garland, TX 75040. It's across the George Bush from where we had the 50th! The banquet room doors will open at 5pm and we will have the room until 10pm. A Buffet dinner will be available from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Place: Richardson Comments: A big Thank You to Rusty Powers for seeing and responding to the posts Don L and I made regarding Dane being a Marine. He confirmed Dane was a Marine and when he joined, also that he too had been a Marine. We didn't know that fact.

Place: Richardson Comments: Don Lincoln - I can assuredly say, Yes Dane Thornton was in the Marines. I've seen pics of him in his uniform and a pic of him in a Marines T-shirt. numerous times at some of our old get-togethers he and a few other Marines would do the Semper Fi. He was one tough guy and loved riding that Harley! Maybe when we see his obit it might give us some detail and dates. If not I bet Janet Hohhertz would be able to give me some of the details. Let's see how this plays out. For now I'm still really sad about it and it breaks my heart. Later Don . . .

Place: Dane Thornton's passing Comments: Yes, unfortunately, Dane Thornton passed away at the hospital early Sunday morning, 7-12. He's had diabetes for some time and he suffered a stroke. His son posted on Dane's FB page and his s-n-l, Janet Hohhertz. confirmed it. They will let us know about services when arranged.
Please keep Dane's wife, Debbie, as well as his children and Janet in your prayers. He as a tough, funny and good guy who loved being a Dallas Motorcycle cop.
Place: McKinney Comments: So sorry to hear about the passing of Dane Thornton this morning. He was really a great guy and a good friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Place: Richardson Comments: The Hotel reservation link has been posted. All the info on rates, 2 room options and link to reservation prices have been posted on Events pg 2. Steve, our Event Mgr. finally said the quickest way is to eliminate the auto 2 night and go with billing Sat night only. I know some of you drive a good distance and you want to come in Fri and leave Sun morning. Here' how we solved it. Make your Sat night reservations. Then, send me an email (not text or DM) and tell me the name your reservation is in and your confirmation #. Steve will personally go into the HI system and add Fri night to your reservation. The rates are good. $100 (plus taxes and fees) for each night and for both options of 1 King or 2 Queens. I tested the link out before posting it. The total (including taxes & fees) was $117.00 per night. Believe me, that is a good rate! Now start making plans to attend and reserve the weekend of September 25, 26, and 27.

I swore at our 50th, that would be the last!! But everyone keeps asking and saying they don't need a lot of hoopla. They just want to eat and visit with friends. So, that's what we're going to do. No videos, skits, loud band, etc. Just friends eating, drinking taking pics and having a great time together!! To Texas on Friday for our SOC β66 celebration on Saturday - heading for home on Sunday to get Annie and Aspen situated so I can leave for Snowmass, CO and this yearβs John Denver Celebration on Monday. Whew! Hope to see EVERYONE! β€οΈππ€ππ€ππ€ππ€ππ€π β€οΈ
Place: SOC '66 Reunion Party! Comments: Ok, date is set for our 60th Reunion Party!! Start planning to attend now! September 26, 2026! Tell your kids now, you can't baby sit that weekend, and yes, you may miss one of the G-kids football, soccer or volleyball games but, you will be visiting and having fun with classmates you graduated with 60 years ago. A once in a lifetime opportunity. More info will follow and all the details shortly. I wanted to get the date out there first. It will only be Saturday evening & night, no official party Friday night. Although many may come in Fri. Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Hi! Hope that everyone is gearing up for a fantastic 250th Independence Day celebration! I have news about our SOC β66 Ladies Christmas in July Luncheon. It will be on Saturday, July 18th, from noon to 3:00 at Love and War in Texas in Plano. The restaurant is close to the El Fenix where we used to meet. We will be in a room that is separate from the main dining room. The menu offers a great selection of dishes. (The SOC β66 and β67 band members had our appreciation dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold there in December of 2021; we had such a great time!) I told the manager that we probably would have around 15 people. I would like to give her an update by July 3rd. Please let me know via Email if you will be attending. Thanks! Love to all.
