Wanted to let y'all know an old friend has resurfaced.  Sandy Shellito sent an update of her info via our website Update pg.  She is now living in Virginia and is also married.  Her married name is Harkins.  How great it was hearing from her!  [love]

She has been keeping up with us via this GB, so was happy to hear from her since it has many years.  Drop us a few lines here Sandy, we'd love to hear what's going on in your life.

Richard, thank you so much for that great update about Eddie Dick.  It is such a relief to know he's back home and doing so much better.  Never give up, always keep fighting.

Good news about Ed Dick. His return to the hospital resulted in a tremendous improvement of his functioning and reduction of pain. His wife Lynda appreciates the Prayers that were said. She says it is wonderful to have the Ed she knew before the illness back home again.

Jack good to see Glynda is making progress and hope it continues with time. Y’all will be in our continued Prayers and we just don’t get back up and going like we used to. Take care.
Facebook told me that Eileen Sandefer’s Birthday was the 23rd of Feb.
has anyone seen or heard from her lately? If she has been on Facebook I hadn’t seen her.

Jack, I am so very sorry that Glynda had to endure so much but glad to know that she is getting better. I’ve always had a soft spot for her and I do wish we still lived in the metroplex because I would help you in a heartbeat. She is so lucky to have you looking after her. Don’t forget to take good care of Jack.

This is Jack with an update on Glynda. On February 17th Glynda finished rehab and came home. She has responded well to being home. Rehab ordered her a wheelchair and advised me to get her a walker. We have both and she won't use either. Her walking is a little unstable, so we walk together. The gash on the bridge of her nose has healed. She is cooperative and responds, best she can, to questions. She is not eating as well as I would like, but it maybe from a lack of exercise. A special shout out to our friends, Ann Hoose, who had a suggestion for a sitter and to Sandy (SNL) for visiting while I ran some errands. Amy found a place that offers companions and I am talking to them. Thanks!!

Please read the message below from Jack Hawkins about his wife Glynda. He posted it on her FB page.  If anyone knows of a good trustworthy person that could come stay with her at least once a week for about 4 hours and maybe once more for a couple of hours, PLEASE contact me. Jack can no longer take Glynda out with him and he can't leave her alone. He hopes she will be released from rehab Tuesday. Prayers for them both. Thank you!!!

"This is Jack. It is past time I updated you on my darling Glynda. On Jan. 11 Glynda fell and landed face first on our coffee table. She broke her nose, fractured the bone below her nose and opened a gash on the bridge of her nose. EMTs took her to Medical City Plano, as they said she needed a trauma center. They put in 6 stitches to close the gash. Facial doc said splints for nose not needed. I'll skip the reasons why, but the doc said nothing by mouth. Set in bed a few days. Finally started feeding her a pureed diet. Then transferred to a special unit to prepare for release. Then the storm hit. No transfers until the street clears. Medical City Plano has a rehab facility but is ONLY out-patients. They have a sever shortage of in-patient therapist. In her 17 days in the hospital she saw 2 therapist. The nurses and assistants and I got her up and walking, but not enough. On the 28th she was moved to a skilled nursing and rehab facility. She has been doing well there and I hope to bring her home soon. I am looking for a "sitter" to come once or twice a week so I can go to the store and things. If you know any one/place that does that, please let me know. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Thanks!"

Found out this morning Eddie didn't have surgery yesterday, he ended up going back home.  Don't have any other info.  Was just a quick text from Eddie's wife, Lynda, to Charles saying no surgery & Eddie back home. [confused]  I'm sure all of this is very frustrating & confusing for both of them. Please keep them in your prayers.

Thanks for the update Richard.  Prayers do need to continue as this is very serious. Lynda must be so overwhelmed.
