Place: Richardson Comments: I did see that obit Tanya. I didn't personally know Mario, but I did know Georgie Turner. We had some classes together. When I started work for SW Bell downtown in Aug. 1966, she was in the same department. Her last name was Moreno so at first I didn't put 2 and 2 together. But as soon a she spoke to me I knew it was Georgie. Very sad as they were married since she graduated, 59 years ago.

Place: Waller, TX Comments: Sandy and Everyone, It's foggy in Waller now, but later we will see a little rain. We need the rain! Randall and I are doing great. Busy with various activities and enjoying life! Glad to hear from all our classmates. Enjoyed reading everyone updates. Praying for those going through health issues - Paul S., Don on the mend and others. Driving at night - we do it, but I am of the mindset that I want to be home at night. But at times, we do drive in the darken - that's just Houston, as it is so large! Randall and I will look forward to the 60th reunion that you are planning. We enjoy seeing our classmates. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Safe travels if this holiday has you driving. Janice and Randall Sims
Place: OKC Comments: SNL...AMEN to that!
Place: Richardson Comments: Paul, good to hear you are out walking. You've come a long way baby! It's funny how an old song, an article in the newspaper or something posted on FB can bring memories flooding back of a great time in my childhood. Good memories are a gift from God.
Place: OKC Comments: This is really turning into "nostalgia during my walk" week for me. Today it was Edelweiss in my ear buds which has dual meaning for me. Obviously, the "Sound of Music" was dominating Dallas while we were at SOC...but there is a second part. My particular recording is by a Hawaiian Group called Ho'Okena which was very popular in Hawai'i when we were stationed there...a double "whammy." Greetings to all. I guess I should add "Aloha hoalohas"
Place: Richardson Comments: Good to hear from yo Paul, sorry it took so long to Unprivate you. Haven't been on PC for a few hours. Been out racking the darn leaves & acorns from my yard & flowerbeds, they're everywhere. Bumper crop this year.I can only imagine the agony of being stuffed in a tube for 30 minutes or so. Geez, glad you made it through. Hope your results will be good. Happy Thanksgiving to you & Kathy!!
Place: OKC Comments: SNL, Can you "unprivate" my previous text. It was not supposed to be private. TNX Paul
Place: OKC Comments: Had an MRI this AM. At 6'5" and 255 "toothpaste tubes" and I are not on the best of terms. God got me through it, Praise Him! After, I needed a good long walk...no bikes for me Don and Jim! Had my oldies playlist on iPhone and when I heard "All These Things" by Joe Stamply from our senior year, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia, so I had to write and say "hi" to everyone and wish you, "Happy Thanksgiving." PAUL
Place: Richardson Comments: Jim, always good to hear from you. Glad y'all are enjoying those precious G-dtrs! And yes, they can wear you out and wear you down but it's so much fun you want to do it again! The triplets use dto wear me out after 4-5 days that I just collapsed after they left. But withing days I couldn't wait for them to come back again. Better stay off the bikes, Don is proof of that! ![]() Thanks, and you're welcome. I'm going to try and make it an enjoyable experience with lots of time for visiting and reminiscing. I know driving has become more difficult for many, so, I want a place where everyone can come in on Saturday (or Friday if they want) and we have a great Saturday afternoon and night. Then they can stay at the location over night and go back home in the daylight on Sunday.
Place: Carthage, Texas Comments: Sandy glad to hear Don is making progress. Every time I think I will get out my bike I get nervous about a fall. I enjoy riding but Geneva had a fall on hers. Thankfully she was not seriously injured. Her shoulder still bothers at times. We are thoroughly enjoying our two Granddaughters. Remi is 3 1/2 years old and Daisy is almost 15 months. They wear us out but are such a joy to be around as well as our Daughter in Law, Stormi. Thanks to Don Lincoln on your work on the video. Always enjoy watching it. I hope you are enjoying your retirement. Thanks Sandy for your efforts as always. Looking forward to the 60 th Reunion. And Thanks again for your tireless work.
Place: Richardson Comments: Ii don't know either Don! I looked and it only shows one link but as we can see it shows twice. If I delete the one link it shows I'm afraid it will delete both. That's Ok, we can look once, or twice, at the wonderful memorial. Thank you Don!
Place: LV, TX Comments: SNL - Don't know why the link posted twice below - I entered it only once. Pls feel free to remove one - tks.
Place: Lago Vista, TX Comments: Greetings, folks – I’m including the YouTube link for this year’s SOC '66 Vets slideshow: We’re still missing military photos from many vets who are still with us. I would appreciate your support in forwarding a copy of your favorite, if you haven’t done so already, so I can include it next time. May each of you enjoy a peaceful, reflective day of observance in recognition of all who served.
Place: Richardson Comments: Last Thursday, Nov. 6, it was 10 weeks since Don had his terrible bicycle crash. He's doing well, getting better each week and able to get more movement in both arms and hands. Been going to P.T. twice a week but next will be the last P.T. FYI - Reunion News - I'm going to start looking for a place to have our 60th Reunion. I want to keep it casual, fun and set up for lots of visiting with each other. Nothing fancy. My goal is to find a good place that doesn't break our pocketbooks. Hope to have that done by early next year, maybe by Feb, so we can lock-in a date and price. |
