Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: I raise up my glass of Sangria in a toast to the members of the fine Class of 1966! Go forth and celebrate - it's a big deal to make it this far.
Place: 67er Comments: Well folks, you know it's Reunion time cause the GB is dead !!!
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Hey, James Young, remember when Jerry Haynes used to do the sports on Channel 8? That was before Mr. Pepperment. And, I have wondered: Am I the ONLY person who didn't care at all for Mr. Pepperment? He just seemed a bit too mamby-pamby for me. But, a lot of kids loved him; and, I guess that is what was important. Jerry and I worked for the same company, but I didn't know him. Remember seeing him in the cafeteria a few times, along with Verne Lundquist, and other newscasters. I remember a few times when I would walk across the driveway to Channel 8, I would sometimes stop and watch (from the window above) the filming of Mr. Peppermint. Had a friend who operated one of the cameras. Isn't it funny how, in our memory, we think Jerry should have been older than 84?
Place: Allen, the United States of Texas Comments: WONDERFUL NEWS, my sweet Ada Ann! But the reunion won't be quite the same without you. Happy Birthday to your mom. We love you, girl.
Place: Marsalis gang Comments: Had a great time playing golf today with the boys of 66 and friends. As much as I hate to say it, Sandy Joe did a great job. Place: coppell Comments: Ada, great news regarding your bone scan. Prayer is powerful. SNL, "You light up my life, you give me hope to carry on" Actually, I have a feeling Jack, J.D. and a few more will be lit enough. You may want to bring several canvass bags.

Place: Sachse Comments: Ada, your good biopsy report is the best news ever! I will certainly miss my tough and gritty pillow fight partner at the reunion this weekend but you will definitely be in all our thoughts, prayers and especially our laughter as we remember the good ole days. I think you will be proud of me as I kept my promise to you and to myself to get that colonoscopy done this year. Had it yesterday and then proceeded to go to the Cowboys/Washington game last night. No problem. Loved the pictures of Jeanne's adorable grandone and great grandone. ![]() Cute as can be.Looking forward to fun and laughter this weekend with all.

Good pic of ya'll on FB. All of us will miss you this weekend, but you will remain in my prayers for a complete recovery & back to your self again real soon. Sammy, you are in my prayers too. Do I need to bring a cover to put over you when the lights go down for the video? Or maybe you can stand by the door & serve as the exit light. Love to you both. ![]()

Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Looking forward to this week-end. Sad news - Mr. Peppermint (Jerry Haynes) passed away at the age of 84. I figured he would have been older than 84.
Place: Garland Comments: Sandy and Susan, thanks for the comments. My imagination is starting to think, a little bit....maybe....but then....I don't know.....I think it needs a new starter...a younger one. |
