Our vet just called. He is putting our little old weenie dog to sleep. I miss her already. She was such a sweet dog and a real trooper dealing with the other two larger dogs. OH what a birthday this is turning out to be. haha! It will be better.

Thanks, Don. On this, my 64th birthday, I get the utter joy of having one of our dogs put to sleep. Poor little mama is more than 100 years old in doggie years, so says our vet. She has a bad heart and her liver is shutting down. Last night she got deathly sick. We put her in her little bed and all she has done is sleep and her breathing is labored. She has nowhere to go but down from here. So, I am going to run her to our vet friend about 5 minutes from our house and let him do the merciful thing for her. I took in Lily when I put my aunt in Grace Presbyterian Village. I promised to take care of the dog for the rest of her life. And, I have given her a good life here at our house. She always loved visiting our house when she lived in Oak Cliff at my aunt's house. She never wanted to go home. Every time I visited my aunt, she would try to get in my car. When I brought her home with me for good, I think it was the happiest day of her life. While working in my home office, she always camps out in there with me. I will miss her very much.
What a great way to start my birthday. But tonight, my wife and daughter are taking me to my favorite Chinese restaurant in Dallas, at Preston Road and Royal Lane, and have my favorite dish, Mongolian Beef. Can't wait.

Ha p p y  B i t h d a y wishes go out to Ronney McKee, for 11/3!  Ronney – Hope you enjoy your big day & don’t feel a whole lot older this morning.  We just get better, remember?  So, go ahead & ring that bell for curb service & breakfast in bed.  Best wishes for many happy returns!

SNL - Couldn't agree with you more regarding David & the effort he put into getting the Mystics back together.  I think he deserves a special award for that, but we can talk separately, if you like.

Sam - Good to hear things are going well so far after #28 & we pray it continues that way.  My brother, Doug, had his semi-annual PET scan day before yesterday & gets the results Fri. - the last 2 have been clear.

Folks - No response yet from anyone who took pix of the vets' display table at the reunion.  I've e-mailed Bill Smith separately, who usually shoots a lot at our gatherings, but if you know of anyone else who may have captured some, please let me know - thanks.

Well #28 treatment today. No side effecttttttctssss yet.
Congrats on your retirement Sandy. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Still can't figure out why I'm three weeks behind on my honey do list. Think Corona Light has something to do with it.
Had a great weekend with grandson Garrett. Went to the HP and Rockwall Heath football game Friday night then fishing at the local Coppell park ponds Saturday. Nothing like a Pop and Garrett bonding.
Love to all

Great picture and great costumes on the grandones, SNL. We were far more limited back when we were kids out trick or treating. Ghosts, witches, hoboes and anything that could be created with items on hand were the most popular back then, but the results were the same...a big bag of candy at the end of the night.

SNL...sounds like OCD to me! You and Bobby would get along just great...he is the same way.
Dr. Put me on a anti-Inflamatory drug....no blood clots...thank goodness. My knee really is not the problem...it is my foot...be glad when it is well so Bobby can relax also.
congratulations on retirement SNL....I know that sooner or later you will learn to relax!!! Lol

Posted a new pic of Halloween Grandones!  Sorry the photo won't get any bigger, but when an IPho is used rather than a camera it makes them smaller & they won't enlarge.

Geez Roe,thanks, and as tempting as that sounds, I'm thinking that may be a bit more heavy duty than I was planning for the first wk!   Sure was good seeing you & Carolyn at the reunion, hopefully ya'll will have the seed planting & growing by April & join us at the mini.

Thanks Sheryl!  I like accomplishing things . . .  it makes me happy.  If I can straighten & reorganize a closet or drawer & make more room or make it look better...  I'm a happy camper.    I have this compulsion to organize things, can't help it sometimes. I must have an OCD for organizing!!

I'm here!  Slept in about 30 mins more than usual & then read the entire paper. Every section!   Today I will categorize & file all the reunion receipts & mark envelope as "Paid 45th Reunion Receipts", then pack away all the many boxes of "supplies & decorations" we save so things can be reused when appropriate.  Then I think I'll take on cleaning out all the "WORK" stuff that I have amassed in the 25 1/2 yrs I've had a home ofc!  Lots of files & paper.  It's so pretty out, think I'll go for a walk later.

Sorry Jack - Ain't no chance this girl is going to reconsider!!  It's kinda scary  . . .  but I'll find my way & I think it's going to be a great new chapter is this ol' girl's life!!

Yes, Ada Ann you have a precious & adorable Grandone!!  I'm waiting now for a pic of the triplets from last night.  If any of the rest of you have pics of your G-Ones in costume, send 'em to me!   We managed to wrangle getting the triplets for Thanksgiving!! Don will pick them up early Wed mrng B4 Tnxgvn! Just the triplets . . .  no parents!!

I wonder if SNL is up yet? Shuhhhh...let's let her sleep in since it's her FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT!!! Happy for you girl. Enjoy it.

Shortcake, sorry you have had a more painful and slower recovery than expected after your knee operation. Hope that foot stops giving you problems real soon. Maybe you should stop kicking Bobby. After all, you have a cane for that.

It's been hard to wear a smile after the area sports losses this past week. But the picture of Ada Ann's sweet grandone Sophie as Snow White sure helps. Ada Ann, you are surely blessed.

I feel a great disturbance in the universe.
The Rangers can't pull out a win.
The Cowboys get rolled over.
Shortcake's foot is hurting.
What is happening that is out of the norm?
Think about it...
Oh, SNL is retiring. Gee, SNL, look at all the havoc you are causing. Is it REALLY worth it?? Maybe you ought to put in a couple or three more years!!

I updated the site & The Mystics now have their own page, they are no longer sharing the Events pg.  See "45th REUNION-THE MYSTICS"

There's also a new Grandone posted on P&J pg.  Ya'll check out Snow White on the P&J!
