Place: Richardson Comments: Donnie thank you for letting us know about Bill Smith. How scary for both of them. Will put them on my prayer list. š
Place: Garland Comments: I just received an email from Jeannie Smith and she asked me to let everyone know that her husband, Bill has been diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and started chemotherapy today. He is in Richardson Methodist. The hospital has him as Paul Smith instead of Bill Smith. Please keep Jeannie and Bill in your prayers
Place: Richardson Comments: Vernon, thank you for the update. So glad she is home and I know you are too as it's hard to be at a hospital every day worrying about someone. Praying you both can get some rest now that y'all are back home. š
Place: Frost Tx Comments: Hello to all the SOC family. JoAnn and I would like to thank everyone for your prayers. She is home and doing ok. We wish you all good health .
Place: Sunny Richardson Comments: Oh, thanks Jack, It's nice to see a few people posting here. Sometimes I can here crickets!!
Place: Richardson Comments: No, I haven't forgot about the always possible freeze that can happen here. When my mom and I would talk about putting in bedding plants she always told me, "Don't plant those tender bedding plants until after Easter." It doesn't make any difference "when" Easter is, don't put them in the ground until after Easter. This year Easter is March 31st. I see a long slow stroll thru the nursery on Saturday March 30th and a big planting the following week.
Place: Sachse Comments: Good thoughts, Sandy, I know you have not forgotten our annual Easter cold spell. And THANKS for providing a means of keeping us in touch and together.
Place: Richardson Comments: Spring has sprung, at least here in DFW area. Starting today, we've got sunshine and temps beginning at upper 60s, tomorrow upper 70s and Wed & Thurs low 80s. The next 2 weeks look great with sun and good weather. Maybe winter has hit the road!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Now that is funny!! What are the odds of the same card, and I believe you told you each bought the card at different stores. Glad it was a good Valentine's for you two. Ours was good too. No flowers, he knows I'm allergic, but a good day with cards and nice dinner at Wildwood.
Place: Fairview, TX Comments: Sandy, that was a very nice message to everyone! Thanks for the update on Vernonās wife. Sheās had a lot on her plate. Hereās hoping that being home will be just what she needs! I couldnāt let this go without sharing with everyone! Just how well do we know our spouse? On Valentineās Day, he rememberedā¦. I got a beautiful bouquet of roses, Lillieās and babyās wreath in a nice vase and a great card! He didnāt just think about it (inside joke) but he remembered! When we exchanged cards we both looked confused for a split second and then we both burst out in laughter! The joke was on both of us! We gave each other the same card!! How does that EVER happen? It made for a funny and absolutely great evening over dinner! Itās the little things after all!
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Sandy - What a wonderful Valentineās Day message from you! Place: Sunny Richardson Comments: To all my SOC Friends, especially the class of '66 . . . Want to express how much I have enjoyed the reunions and all the many Mini Get-Togethers we've had over the past 22 to 23 years!! Getting to know many of you I had only know as "passing in the halls" friends and others I've known for so many years. Our class seems to be closer than some of the other classes and we have become known as "the friendliest and most welcoming" class! Yes, friends from other classes that I see at their reunions or lunches tell me all the time how much they like our class because we always welcome them at our reunions and the Minis. Your friendship has meant the world to me and I hope to keep seeing you this year at a Mini and maybe some lunches. Happy Valentine's Day to my class of '66 Friends!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Just finished talking with Charles and JoAnn has been in rehab for few weeks and was told she can go home tomorrow, 2-14. Let's pray she will continue to improve as its been a long haul for her and for Vernon too.
Place: Richardson Comments: Valentine's Day is next week. Hope you can make plans for time with your sweetie. We'll probably go to our favorite restaurant, have a JW Black and nice dinner. We'll be married 39 years on Valentine's Day!! Don't know where all the years have gone. Hope all of you have a good evening.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hard to believe but it's already the end of January! At least we've finally got some nice weather here in the DFW area this week. Hitting mid-to-upper 70s yesterday and today! About time after the Big Chill and then the monsoon. It's almost Valentine's Day. Wish I had the energy to celebrate!
