Jack's Mom was like a second mother to me.   I talked to Jack yesterday and I think he is still a little shaken by it.  I remember fondly the kindness that Mrs. Hawkins always showed me (and I am sure several others).  I especially remember the times during junior high when I was walking to school and she would stop and offer me a ride especially whenever it was raining or cold.   Also, I have very many fond memories of going over the the Hawkins' house and being treated as one of the family.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  The prayers of all the Tillery  clan are sent up for Jack and Glynda during this sad time.

Well, that's just a terrible story about Jack's mom.  Jack, so sorry for you at this time.

Glynda Hawkins, Jack's wife, just called and Jack's Mom passed away yesterday.  She fell in her room late Monday night and broke 5 ribs which were puncturing her lungs.  Unfortunately, she passed away Tue, 1-30.  Arrangements are pending, will let you know when they are confirmed.

Jack & Glynda, I am so sorry for your loss.  I know it's heartbreaking to lose your Mom.  Don & I will pray for God to give you strength and peace to fill your heart.

Regarding the issue with room requests for our 70th B-day Party - - - As luck would have it, our Banquet Mgr is off today!  They don't always work 8-5 and in exchange for evenings or weekends they get a weekday off.  Jenny is off today, Monday 1-29!  I left her VM & Em so hopefully we'll get it fixed tomorrow.

I'll let you know as soon as the rooms are available! sorry!

Good idea Jack.  Let me get the room reservations fixed first.  Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon.
Be sure people reading the Classmates info knows that replying to your invite does not get them registered for the Party.  Everyone must register & pay the $20 to attend.  If anyone on Classmates has difficulty in knowing how to access our page or downloading the form, give them my pho # and ask them to call me.  I'll do it over the pho.

No Carol, you didn't jump the gun.  I will contact the Manager, probably have to wait until Monday, to make sure she gets it set up.  It should be there!

Yes, I put the info on the Events pg. and set up a link to get the registration form.  Wait until Monday afternoon and I will make sure the rooms will be available. Seems with every hotel this is always a problem when we first try to get reservations.  Hope lots of you will read the Events pg and start signing up.

Hi, everyone!

Just FYI - I called the hotel to make my room reservation for the party.  The reservation clerk told me to call back in a couple of weeks, as she couldn't make a reservation until they have "blocked out" the rooms for our group.  Guess that I jumped the gun a little because I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone.

Love you all - stay warm!

In 2 and a half weeks it will be Valentine's Day.  Now that I've put the thought of Love into your head, let's start thinking about a Celebration of Life!  Hope you've marked your calendar for Sept. 22, 2018!!

That's the date for our 70th Birthday Party.  I'm working on the Registration form right now.  Will link it to the Events pg. so you can download and print it.  There won't be any invitations mailed out . . . you'll need to go to the Events pg. for all info and the form.  If you know someone who doesn't have Internet Access, please pass the info along to them.  Ask them to call me and I'll take their registration over the phone.  I'll do what ever it takes if someone wants to attend!  972-918-0781, call me.

Sounds good Richard.  I've arranged to have a bar in our event room so hopefully that will alleviate the problem. [smile]

Thanks SNL...I love personal invitations.  Usually, I'm just invited to leave a bar...it gets very personal.

At any rate, I'll put this on my calendar.

It was 15 here this morning, better than the 10 they predicted.  Now a warm up is on its way. Yea!!!  Tonight 32 and then a warm up that has Sat & Sun in upper 60s and even low 70s.

Dear Richard - This is your personal invite to our 70th B-day Party. [thumb]  We would love to see you & anyone else who would like to celebrate being 70 and still kickin'!!  By end of next week I will have the registration form linked to the Events page & other details.  Let's Celebrate!!  [crazy]

Thanks Sandy for putting the 70th party together.
I spoke with Marvin Mullins today. All ramps on I-45 in Houston are closed due to the weather. He said he's never seen it this bad in the 30 years he's been down there.

I updated the info on our Events page regarding our upcoming 70th B-day Party in Sept.  I signed the contract last week so we are locked-in for date, time, price, etc.

Please keep in mind, I will not be mailing out invitations to the party!  You must go to our Events pg. to get all the info., as well as download a Registration form to mail in with your payment.  Please pass this info along to those who might not be connected to FB or our website.
