Place: Richardson Comments: I spoke with Charles Moss tonight as he has been keeping me posted about Vernon Moreland's wife, JoAnn. She's been in the hospital for over a week and isn't doing very well. she was supposed to have back surgery but when they went in to do surgery they have a bad infection. Tried to clean it out but couldn't do surgery. Vernon is very concerned and has ask for his SOC friends to please pray for Joann to get better. There are several other prayer groups sending prayers but she does need all she can get. Let's help Vernon and JoAnn by sending our prayers as he would be most grateful. Thank you SOC Warriors.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Larry. I'll pass that info on to Don L.
Place: Denton Comments: FYI: for the veteran's pages. There is a picture of Daniel Tuck in the 1964 Den. I have copy if needed.
Place: Richardson Comments: Congratulations Larry!! You will be a double G-pa within a 5 month span. one of our G-dtrs was born on 12-24, my b-day is 12-23 and our dtrs is 12-30. Dec is a busy month for us! Happy New Year everyone! We went over to my brother's house to visit for a few hours today and now back home in comfy clothes and in for the night. Looking forward to a relaxing night of TV watching the country NYE special. Hope to see some of you tomorrow at Uncle Julio's at 11:30am!!!!
Place: Dallas Comments: Congratulations Larry, have you decided what you want the Gkids to call you? Mine call me BaPa. It will not be your choice, your grandaughter will hear you say Grandad and she will translate it into her own language.
Place: Denton Comments: Great after Christmas. My first grandchild was born on 12/26/23 at 9:58 am. A beautiful little girl weighing 6 lb. 2 oz by my daughter. They currently live in Pleasant Grove. Now I just have to wait until late March or early April for a grandson from my son's wife. They currently live in Grapevine.
Place: Richardson Comments: Great to hear from you Rick! So, I guess I'm not the only one who can't stand the thought of moving! I know several people who move quite often and never bat an eye . . . not me. Rick, I'm with you and Jerry, it's traumatic!
Happy New Year to you & Marilyn, may it be safe and with hope for a good 2024.
Place: Dallas Comments: I decided to check in and see how everybody is after Christmas. I can weigh in on the big house situation, I don’t ever want to move again . it would be just too much trouble packing up everything I’ve got , putting it in boxes and lugging it over to a smaller house. I would have to get rid of 90% of what I’ve got , of all the junk I have and all my collections and loose all the history that I have in this house , 33 years , I just can’t do it. I guess we did things backwards. We lived in a small house until our two kids went to college then we built this larger house. Marilyn says she is never moving so I guess I will have to stay too. I hope everyone has a great year in 2024. AND STAYS HEALTHY.
Place: Richardson Comments: One last reminder - - - Come join Don & I and other SOC friends at Uncle Julio's at 11:30am New Year's Day morning. (Monday) We'll meet in the bar, share a toast to a new year, then have a great lunch & visiting time! It's just off the N. Dallas Tollway @ Keller Springs exit. Hope to see many of you there!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Yikes!! My worst nightmare, moving twice! You have my deep sympathy. Now that our G-kids (the triplets) are in college they won't be coming for a week or so stay in the summer or for a week after Christmas. We don't need this 2-story 4 BR 3.5 bath anymore. Let me know how you do, if you survive, maybe I can do it. Happy New Year my friend!!!
Place: Soon to be Fulshear Comments: SNL Thanks for the pass. Joyce and I decided that we did not need as much space as we hasd and decided the time was right for a change. The new house should be ready by mid-February. You are correct is saying that the move has been difficult especially since we are having to move twice(once into storage and then into the new house.).
Place: Richardson Comments: the New Year is creeping up on us. Only 3 days of 2023 left. Hope to see lots of our SOC group at Uncle Julios at 11:30am New Year's Day. It's the one just off the N Dallas Tollway at Keller Springs exit.
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm going to give you a pass this year for being late. I hear you are in a transition to a new home. You hate moving as much as I do, so my heart goes out to you. I may just die in this house, even though it's now way too big for us, because I can't stand the thought of moving!!! Hope it was a good B-day and Christmas despite the move. Happy New Year Jerry!
Place: Katy, TExas Comments: I apologize for the late entry, I was away from computers for a few days. Happy Birthday to my twin. As Jack said earlier we have all known each other for more years that we all want to count (about 70 years) and it has been my pleasure to have known them for that long.
Place: Richardson Comments: We had a great Christmas at my brother's house here in Dallas. I think I'm recovering from a sugar high from all the goodies I've been eating. If you're interested in joining us at Uncle Julios Jan 1st at 11:30, please do! We have 8 people so far that said they would be there, so come on out. It's the location right off the N.Dallas Tollway at Keller Springs. We'll toast to a new year and have lunch. |
