Comments: Happy Jack my wife is the best cook in town. The gumbo is out of this world but the important thing to remember is just don't ask what is in the gumbo. I know all about that cajiun cuisine ( if it don't moves now qwsion frys it or gumbos it up )
Comments: Michael Scott, the traffic reporter on KSCS (in the zebra copter) is from there too! Glynda and I stopped there for lunch on our way to FL one year. Some pretty good eating. I think the place was owned and run by Paul Pruodume (sp) the famous chef in New Orleans. We didn't tarry long but looked like some neat shops there.
Comments: Thanks, Buddy. I was beginning to think there had been a rapture and I was the only one left ![]() ![]()
Comments: Sandy my wife is from Natchitioches La. We married there in 73. Did crawfishing and fishing on Cane River Bayou. Home of John Fords and John Wayne film "Horse Soldiers". Courtney will have a blast. The Bayou River runs down the middle of town. Road prayer in place
Comments: Prayer request: My youngest, Courtney, will be driving to Natchitoches, La after work ,BY HERSELF, for a Princess retreat this weekend. Please pray for her travel safety and a successful retreat.
Comments: Send 'em thru, Jack. I just wasn't sure it was really you....I'm a spamaphobe, so sometimes I get too restrictive with my email filters.
Comments: Oh, I think you were trying to say that JD needs golf lessons. ![]() ![]()
Comments: Thanks Toni. That means I can wait for the Valentine candy to be reduced 50%, then overnight it to JD.![]() I have plenty experience driving golf carts at tournaments, so how did you know I have always wanted to take lessons, Mr. McGee ![]()
Comments: .....being the historian that I am, Sandy McM....it's Feb. 15th!! He's already getting ready for the big weekend....good luck to everyone in the frozen tundra!!
Comments: Sandy Joe, I bet you have electric socks. Did you get some of those electric pants like that NFL kicker uses?? I have been up north when it was cold. That is one of the reasons I live in Texas. Remind me to tell you about going fishing at International Falls MN on Memorial day weekend.
Comments: Cheesehead, travel safe today, as for smoozing a present out of Ms. Sandra M., I suggest golf lessons.
Comments: Ron, I had forgotten all about how much fun Christmas tree forts were. We did that in my neighborhood, too. But, we had to use our back yard. We only got one day a year to have a tree fort because when my parents came home and found the back yard full of all the neighborhood Christmas trees, I had to help clean out the back yard.......after having my rear end unceremoniously "tanned." I always conveniently forgot that I was not allowed to have all those dried up trees in our yard, no matter what we used them for. Ooooh, those WERE the days! I can still smell those trees.
Comments: J.D., Good luck this weekend....remember that it is just a game...no lives depend on the outcome. Maybe we will see you in the Super Bowl!
Comments: Buddy, Speaking of my mother's kitchen, do remember the time that I escaped the kitchen and was caught watching TV at your house, missing dinner? I think Mike Dugan's mother ratted me out as hiding at your house. Also, as I believe David Mitchell talked about the Christmas Tree forts and baseball and football games in the field next to your house. The Pappous' (sic) garage made a wonderful backdrop. Your field was necessary for the tree forts as I wasn't allowed to have a tree fort at home.
