Comments: Please, please folks. This is your government you're talking about. They're only here to help. aren't they?
Comments: How well I remember the 1986 debacle!!! Poor decisions by others and WE pay to bail them out!!! I'm just glad I'm not trying to sell a home right now. But I am looking for one . . . I should find some good bagains!!!
Comments: SNL, this is the 1986 Sav. and Loan mess repeated. Every American paid $20,000 to bail out the Banks and S&L's. Congress deregulated the S&L's in 1982 to help spur the economy, the crooks take over, 1986 the national economy falters. The 25% increase in value in homes in Fla. and Calif. each year is over. I assume Richard could tell some stories about housing along the west coast. I built pools when rates were 18%. People could not give away homes in the Park Cities area. The media has created a Recession, this year will be ugly. Everything is always about the checkbook. End of lecture, class dismissed ![]()
Comments: Happy Jack, McGee Pools was in line behind one of the bands. I built a spa, on a float, filled with Bud Light. Have you ever seen a 850 gal. keg? We had a leak, pulled over, gave the beer away and made lots of friends. Brought back Louann's and the Red Jacket memories.
Comments: Buddy, you're opening a can of worms!!! But now that you've got me riled up I too have a comment! Besides trying to help the people who bought houses they can't afford & without obviously reading a single word of the contract they signed . . . they are trying to bail out the Loan Institutions (banks & mortgage companies) who made those bad loans! You know, those loans made without a single penny down, no docs required, no verification of salary and hey, we'll roll in the closing costs too!! Now that all those loans are going bad the banks & mortgage companies are whining & want that Gov to bail them out. Have any of you ever bought a house & not put anything down, didn't read the mortgage agreement (they all claim they had no idea the interest rate would go up!) & not had to show any kind of docs to verify anything??? I haven't!! So yes Buddy - - - I'm with you . . . Why should my tax dollar go to help bail out someone who bought a home they couldn't afford & the lending institution that made the bad loan!!!??? ![]()
Comments: Pool Guy; I looked and looked for your float in the MLK parade but didn't see it. Did it break down on the way?
Comments: is today a good day to buy stocks? is the fed tossing the bait out too ? is 3.5% on new fed rate today make u put ure hand out to stop the falling knife. most important why is my tax dollar going to bale out people living beyond their needs. a spiritual thought from Dr Grump on taxes
Comments: I posted the info & link about the upcoming SOC Hop on our Events pg last night. I know many of you have been coming to Wayne Zablosky's gym/warehouse for SOC Hops & it's always a good time. But Wayne's warehouse is full of equip since Dec and there's no place to have it!!! So he & his planning crew have put together an alternate SOC hop event by renting the Brazos Rm at Gilley's. Looks like it will be fun & a good meal to boot!!! He's shelling out the money for the room & food & they will give everyone a voucher for free parking!! If you are interested please RSVP to Phyllis Kelley -- I put her EM & the link on the invite. Yes , this time around it will cost $25 per person, but remember, it includes a buffet meal, pvt rm, and then access to Gilley's for the evening!!
Comments: Thanks Sandy Joe - now I know who to ask questions too before I throw the computer. Oh and being a grandmother is pretty great also!! They really are a lot of fun to have around Aren't they? ![]()
Comments: Thanks to all for the compliments about Grandsons Jackson and Kyle. They are beautiful, healthy, intelligent, and hard headed little guys. KMG you nailed it, and being Grandpa is the best job in the world.
Comments: Shortcake, I have Vista on my Dell laptop. It has taken some time to navigate my way, but the Help and Support section is an asset. Down loading Office Outlook last week, I was on the phone to Microsoft 3 times. The Support group is in India. Nice people, professional, but difficult to understand.
Comments: Sandy McGee - Your 2 grandsons sure are handsome young men. I bet that they have lots of fun with their grandpa. I do think you look special when you were wearing the cheezehead.
Comments: Memo To KarenMG: Every now and then I take a break from hounding the Class of '66 and move down the food chain to the Guestbook of the mangy class of '65. I was just kidding about the champagne thing (... maybe) and have moved on to other endeavors. Just got through mailing off my resume to Harris County to apply for a job as the top District Attorney. The county actually pays you for sitting on your a** and sending emails to your mistress. My kind of job! http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/blogger.htm
Comments: Robert; I am so sorry for your loss. Rose was a special lady and will be missed.
Comments: Hello Jack, I tried to find your email address but could not. Aunt Rose passed away yesterday. If you would email me I can send you the details. Looking forward to hearing from you. Robert and Jolae |
