Comments: I tried without success to get in touch w/the family up until 9:35pm last nite. I did t/w both Bill & his dtr Amy this mrng. PLEASE NOTE: Amy has requested that no one call their home & t/w Bill. They are controlling what he hears as he is a heart patient & several yrs older than Christie. Amy sd they aren't sure when surgery will be done - - could be as early as tda or as late as Wed. They are giving Christie blood thinners & it depends on when the Dr. says the time is right! She has asked that no one call today until I hear bk frm her. She may go into surgery tda & Amy doesn't need the hassle of the pho as there are many other issues she is dealing with. I assured her all of Christie's friends are sending up prayers & we anxiously await new info. I told her we had some SOC girlfriends offering to stay at night if she needs them. She said she just might need help & will call me if she does. I will then pass on the names & # of those who have volunteered. I will get you the mailing address for cards shortly. Please, let's respect their privacy & not put undue stress on them at this time. Amy will get back to me by 1:00 if surgery is tda & she will let me know if it's OK to call Christie or not. For now, let's pray for her and her family and wait for more info. Thank you!

Comments: i would like to say that this is really hard for us . im eileen sandefer's little sister dlana. and christie has been with us through every thing that we have been through with our family .christie made me realize that i had lost 2 mothers within 15 months she has always been there for us and we will be there for her and her family. eileen is taking it pretty hard but me and my husband are trying to make her feel better but no matter how much you tell someone when something like this happens that you need to think postive . they dont believe it so when you are sitting there thinking that your life is bad always remember that there is someone out there has worst problems than you do so lets keep on praying and having faith .dont know yall but i feel that i do cause of eileen . christie i have know her since i was born. she is a wonderful person and so is her family
Comments: I talked to Christie this morning and she seemed to be in good spirits considering what she and her family are going through. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.She is at Baylor Hospital. This is so hard for me because she has been my best friend for 45 years.
Comments: I promise I will keep everyone informed of Christie's status!! I will call Bill tonight hoping to catch him at home. I like to confirm info of this type with the family rather than getting a 3rd party version! As soon as I can get an update on hospital & other critical info I will inform ya'll as I know everyone wants to help. I'll let him know all of her SOC Friends are praying and offering to help if he needs it. I'll get back to you soon!
Comments: I am working today and I just saw SNL's post about Christie. It really shook me but I am remaining absolutely positive about her successful surgery and recovery. SNL, let Christie know that I am available to help in any way. If Bill needs someone to stay with her in her room at night or daytime, I'll be there.

Comments: Sandy Lynn, I know you will keep us informed about Christie. Just hit 2 buckets of golf balls, and I see this. I guess the group needs to put a big hug around the family.
Comments: Yes Ada, Bill had a heart attack last year and nearly died from complications after surgery! But he recovered & is doing great. He will need all his strength to now help Christie. JD, start lighting the prayer candles!

Comments: Please note I've just gotten word that Christie Blevins Torbett is in Baylor Hospital. She has two Brain Tumors!! One is quite large. As you may remember, she retired from Fox 4 TV in Dec. Recently she began having migraine headaches & had a MRI done. She will have surgery to remove the tumors Wed. Her family is with her. Please, we need to all send up prayers for a successful surgery & Christie's recovery!! I will let you know as soon as we get word on Wed.
Comments: Well, nothing untoward happened & no one arrested . . at least when I left abt 10:45. The food was good & lots of it, Jerry's music was very good & I loved seeing all the people. Your '63 class had a big showing as did my '66ers. Our '66 table had a blast!! Big turn out! Some of the '63 gals rode The Bull ( at a slower pace) & they got pictures!! But when our rented section (The Brazos Rm) closed up a little after 10:00 most everyone went home! We were free to move next door to the Gilley's dance hall & saloon, which a few couples did & were dancing to a great band when we left, but you could cut the smoke with a knife!! I'm very allergy to smoke so I couldn't hang out there. Our room was smoke free. fun night, but bottom line is . . . it wasn't as good as Wayne's place!
