Comments: You know, Tolerable Toni, now is an excellent time to endure yourself by telling us Shortcake stories. She's on a cruise and no way of reading the book. By the time she gets back the book will be so far down the road she'll never get this far back to find out. Gee, you're among friends, you can tell us!!!
Comments: Toni, I can usually Tolerate you.
Comments: Linda P, you're among friends....no worries! I tear up at the drop of the hat....I've earned that right but it doesn't make it any fun. Thinking back on our days at Zumwalt and SOC, I had many friends but my closest friends at Zumwalt....those who could tolerate me! My closest friends at SOC.....the ones who still continued to tolerate me ... those who knew my faults....and liked me anyway! Ada, I think of you and your mother each day with positive thought and prayer. You are a real gem! Sandy Mc, you are priceless...you had us really going for a moment!
Comments: Ada Ann -- I'll pray for your mom, you and your family. It's hard to see your loved one failing. One day when I won't get too emotional, I'll tell you why your mom has always been so special to me.
Comments: Ada, I've got your Mom on my prayer list. More importantly, God has her in his hands. You, too.
Comments: I think I need to rephrase my room offer....ladies only! Maybe you don't have to be a lady....just female!
Comments: Ada...the secrecy is to make sure your husband doesn't find out...I'll sleep in the tub...LOL...I'm just looking for a cheap room. Must be Jack's influence on me...tubbing I mean.
Comments: Ada...I'll share your room...just don't tell anyone!
Comments: I think I had a harder time at Holmes than I had at SOC. If there was to be a butt of a joke....it was me. Growing up with problems at home can really wreck the self confidence. When I got to SOC, things changed for me. I had a few close friends and seemed to stay in that group. I thought everyone else was more confident, popular, etc....but I guess under the skin, we were all the same and had the same insecurities. I have my room booked for Fri, June 6, so if anyone wants to share that would be great. Mother is not doing good.....really failing. Please keep her in your prayers.
Comments: Annette the Lionette: I always thought of you as a very popular, pretty girl who had no problems. Wow! Turns out we have more in common than I thought. I also had a difficult home life. And, Sandy is right....that is often where we develop a sense of humor. It helps. If you look at many of the successful comedians, you will find they had miserable home lives while growing up. Annette, I always thought you would never have anything to do with me. What a GREAT surprise it was when we met in the 11th grade and had such a good time sitting by one another in class. I have always thought of you as a great friend since that time. You seem to have made a good life for yourself and you have such a nice husband. You're A-OK, even if you cannot cluck as well as I. I am not sure the others fully understand our chicken clucking! ![]()
Comments: tATTOO mAC - you are a stinker! I lUV it u had us going bUTTER fINGERS - u can't putt anyway. Bovie's in my cart hAPPY jACK - see what I have to put up with. u need McKee and his bOOM bOX in a cart -lET tHE gOOD tIMES rOLL- btw Dale said u can drink and drive in a cart that's what he drives in d/t Conroe
Comments: Sorry, McGee that just slipped out. ![]() Annette, maybe your unhappiness is how you developed your since of humor. I too am surprised as Susan. We had a class together, don't remember which one, cause that's how I met you. You seemed to be very out going, lots of fun and very well adjusted. Who would have known. Sophomore year the Zumwalt people were scary to me. They seemed to be everywhere.
Comments: Well, if you would get off the pole you could putt!
Comments: Bay Watch Buddy, playing with B. C. Browning can be a distraction. The cart girl shows up on every hole (he's a big tipper). I don't mind that, but when they do a pole dance with the flag stick, I can't putt.
Comments: annette, I had no idea. I've heard from two or three other people who say they had a very hard time in high school and these were people that were popular with lots of friends. I thought they had it made. |
