Comments: JD and Kathy were flying back home tonight. JD sounded like he was whipped. JD take care and rest up you have a big game in June and want to be in shape.
Comments: RW, just a guess, but I bet if you cure the SPA problem, you will get a life time pass to use the spa.
Comments: Yes, Richard Hawkins, class of 59, is my older brother. I recognized alot of names and faces in that Den. Mike Tillery was Jerry's older brother. He died in a car wreak, I think that same year. Lots of last names and similar faces to our class. Class of 59 was born in 40-41, just before the start of WW II. Many of those guys(and a few girls) were know to hang out or at least drop by our house. Glad to see them getting caught up to the internet thing and planning a 50th.
Comments: McGee, it's the plaster, not the water. Rick just let me know when you and Dagley, I mean Marilyn want to come.
Comments: I just spoke with Donnie & he and Barb landed at Love Field and are headed home. He has appt with his Cardiologist tmo to see what is causing the problem. He's feeling OK, but gets tired very easily. Let's all pray for a good outcome as he's needed on the links in a few months! Who else is gonna keep that motely crew in line!
Comments: Richard, You will know it when it happens
Comments: I noted Richard Hawkins in the class of 59....I assume he's Jack's bro. I don't know about the last sibling standing yet, but my younger brother & I continue to watch each other to see who becomes the last.
Comments: I like this: "To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did" When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence..... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'
Comments: Even though I am not a last member of my family, I love that Ronney took a painful situation and used his new expertice as a lone surviving family member to make a difference in another family and neighbor's life. What a great way to get past the sorrow of being the last one standing by finding ways to get involved in other's lives who would appreciate our understanding from first hand experience. It could help others and also divert our focus from personal pain. Great advice and example, Ronney. ![]()
Comments: Toni: There are probably more of us in our class who qualify for the Last Sibling Standing than we realize.
Comments: Sandy Joe, I take that as an insult, I am a streaker not a stripper. And I have never been invited to sandy McM's spa. That's a hint Sandy McM.
Comments: Ms.Sandra McM, you have rust colored water in your spa at the hotel? The PH is out of balance, and copper has been stripped out of the heater. Check your guest list, Lurker G. Dagley and Streaker Rick may have been partying in your spa.
Comments: Ada Ann....we should start a support group and call it The Last Sibling Standing...my dad died when I was 11 in 1960...my mother...1994...and my brother (who was 19 yrs. my senior) in 2003...the year after John (late husband) died.... so I'm it in my family too. There are so many of us...who knew. Love ya, lady
Comments: John: I enjoyed looking at the class of '59. My brother was a sophomore that year; so, I did know a few of the people in that class. For example, the Deb captain was Sandy Brewer. Her sister, Sheri, is married to my uncle in Boca Raton, Florida. Sandy is still a "knock out" in the looks department. Kay Sutton was the most celebrated member of that class. In high school, she was already considered to be the most photographed woman in Texas. She went on to marry one of the stars of the movie West Side Story, and did other interesting things. If my memory serves me, she appeared on a cover or two of Playboy. I didn't know her, but I sure do remember her. She was the co-drum major. I always remember when she did cartwheels across the football field in one half-time show. Thanks for leading us to that web link.
Comments: Some of you youngsters may have had siblings ... er, make that "parents" in the Class of '59. If so, click on the link below, stand, and prepare to sing ... http://www.soc1959.com/ [sidebar: in 1963, we had a HOT young teacher named Leta Denning show up to begin her teaching career. I could barely focus in her class. Turns out she had graduated from SOC in '59. Pretty easy on the eyes even in '59] |
