I set the trap last night to see what might happen into it and caught another coon.
I didn't recognize him because he had a mask on but I added him to my relocation program anyway. I saw that smart little guy reaching for the door lock like he knew
that was the key to his freedom. I think they were raised by the same parents because when I let him go there wasn't even so much as a thank you and good by.
Thanks Karen for the warning about rabies.
I was careful because I wouldn't want you to loose your good friend,,, me.

I have TiVo set to record 'Boston Legal' whenever it comes on.  What a hilarious program & it just seems to get wackier all the time.

I enjoy hearing Alan’s closing arguments, even if I don’t always agree with his position.  When Denny complained that his “junk wouldn’t work”, I almost had to go on oxygen.  I, too, would like to see Shirley in that cheerleader outfit ... but not for the same reason as Denny.

Lastly, after watching Alan & Denny board that boat loaded with bountiful babes, I’m now quite certain that I enlisted in the wrong, old Coast Guard.

Someone asked about Mike Dunn's status, since he just recently moved to Houston, before the storms.  I rcvd this from him about 5 pm this past Sat:

"Thanks for the note. I finally got back in Houston last night and have spent 6 hours today clearing limbs from around my house and have not yet made a sizeable dent. I have shingles missing, a fence down and a leak in our pantry but all are safe so I guess we made it ok!

As quickly as I can arrange a visit to the Austin area I will give you a shout!"

I told him no rush, but to bring plenty of $1 bills when he comes over for lunch ... and tips, of course.

Jack, in reality, I doubt you could bury a skunk alive...they have pretty good digging skills.  JD, just so you know, Jack & I took on the PETA crowd a couple of years ago....homey don't want to play that game again.

Sounds as if many of y'all don't have any experience with skunks. They are mean, aggressive, have sharp teeth, are territorial and like to stink up the place. As someone said earlier they also carry rabies and other diseases. I don't think I buried them alive. I think I drowned them when I filled the hole up with water and drove the adult out. If there were any kids in there at all.
Toni, we should find out soon. Foundation people say my problem is because of a leak. Anybody have a good experience with a leak finder?? Find the leak, fix the leak and foundation. If there is gas it will be nothing new.
KMG, I look forward to your examination!

Jack,  I wouldn't want to be around if you ever have your foundation repaired.  I bet that stinky smell will still be there!  Can't those smells turn into (I know I shouldn't say this before I say it but..) some type of gas and become a danger to your home?  Just a thought!

I'll volunteer to be a taste-tester for the next batch, SNL!!

JD, I called you back on my landline...but you thought it was John Barnett calling!!

I guess my "stinks" joke didn't go over in Goudaland. Come on JD, don't get your tail over your head...........(another skunk joke).

I can't believe this...we have PETA members in the class...KMG & RN...and over skunks. Jack...you did the best thing...bury them alive.

As a kid on the farm we would run into skunks, snakes, ground squirrels and wild dogs puppy's when we would cut the hay. If we ever caught them we would put them in a toe sack and take them down to 5 mile creek that ran through my property.

I'd tie the sack up and throw them in the creek with a big rock attached...watch it sink to the bottom and only pull it out when the bag stopped moving...go dig a hole and bury them. No prayers...and I got sprayed more than once...

I wish I had been smart enough to do that when Louis Langford and I went to East Texas our Sr year and brought back an Armadillo that we were going to let out in the cafeteria...until some one squealed on us. But the CRAP...and I mean S_ _ _, this animal spewed out of his (A_ _) was so bad...it took Langford 3-4 weeks to get the smell out of his car.

Any way...how can anyone be upset with Jack trying to save his house from being sprayed by a frigging skunk...

Jack - You and JS are bad!!!   I'm upset that you would bury anything ( makes no difference what it is) alive.    And JS taking them off to his step-sons farm and killing them!!!    Bravo to Rick for taking the raccoon on a little trip and releasing him elsewhere!!

I too have had some trouble in the past with varmints.  I got one of those cages and caught a family of 3 squirrels that were reeking havoc on my roof and my yard.  I caught one in the morning and took him about 5 miles away to where there was a creek and let him loose.  That same day I caught the 2nd one and the next day the 3rd.  I released them all at the same place.

Jack, I am horrified that you buried the little skunk babies alive!  When I see you at the next mini, I'm gonna check for a pulse because I suspect there is no heart in there! You big meanie!

SNL, Mimosas will do fine. Many thanks to Barb for bravely "testing them out" to insure quality and satisfaction for the rest of us. What a trooper!
