Place: LV, TX Comments: Greetings, All – I’m including the YouTube link for this year’s SOC '66 Vets slide-show: Updates include a new slide (incomplete info) for Chris Oefinger, discovered to be a Vietnam vet after his obit was posted on the GB recently. Also added are cross symbols alongside names of other deceased vets, Jim Martin, Larry Thomas, and J. D. Garoutte. May each of you enjoy a peaceful, reflective day of observance in recognition of all who served in the past, as well as those still serving. Saluting all. – Don
Place: Thankful in Richardson Comments: Monday, 11-11, is Veteran's Day. Thank you to all who have served and those currently serving our country. We grew up with the Vietnam War all thru our SOC years and beyond. I'm grateful for all who returned and heartbroken for those who didn't. May God Bless the USA and ease the tension and end the wars currently going on around the world so the US never has to get involved in another war. Thank you to all our SOC Veterans!!
Place: Garland Comments: Barbara and I are praying for Ada’s recovery and good health. Also Jeanne is in our prayers for her doctors to help her through this difficult time. Karen is also in our prayers for her successful surgery.
Place: Waller Comments: Hi! Thanks for the update on Ada Ann and also Karen. Ada Ann will have great care in Rehab. Karen’s upcoming surgery -we will add to our prayer list. Of course, Jeanne will be in our prayers. I’m thinking about putting up Christmas decor, but Randall doesn’t know yet. 😱….But I think he will be ok with it. We will see. Our ❤️ to all. Remember-God has got this! Nothing is Too big for Him! Janice
Place: ,McKinney Comments: You can add me to your prayer list Please. On Thursday I will have a reverse shoulder replacement. Still not sure exactly what it is even though I have read up about it and the Dr explained it. Since I just had rotator cuff surgery in February he does not think it will work again. He said something about being too old! After he got up off the floor!!! Jk. Anyway I will be in the hospital at least one night. My niece is taking me there and my sister will pick Bobby up after she gets through with her errandsand will come back on Friday to take me home.
Place: Hot Springs Village, Arkansas Comments: Prayers up for Jeanne and Ada
Place: Powderly, TX Comments: Not sure why my last name showed up incorrectly.
Place: Powderly, TX Comments: Sandy, thank you for the update on Ada Ann. I am so happy she is on the road to recovery. She has many prayer warriors! Sorry to hear about Jeanne Smith. Prayers for her as well.
Place: Ada Ann Update!! Comments: I just spoke with Joe Wingate, Ada Ann's husband. She got out of the hospital yesterday (11-8) and went directly into a rehab facility. Surgery was a success but took a number of days for her to come out of the brain fog caused by the anesthesia during the long surgery. Will be a slow rehab but at least the worst is over and she's out of the hospital and starting a good recovery. Thank you God!
Place: Waller TX Comments: Hi! Everyone! It’s been a good and busy week. Prayers for Ana Ann! Praying for her complete and speedy healing. And, yes this surgery is a Major one & takes time. Prayers for Jean Smith. Praying for God to direct her to the right doctors and medical team. Our blessings to you all, Randall And Janice Scallorn Sims
Place: League City, TX Comments: Prayers for Ada Ann’s complete healing and recovery following her surgery. I know how strong she is although she may not feel it now but I believe in her strong will. Prayers also for Jeanne to get positive news from her doctors. Praying whatever treatment is deemed necessary will be successful and that she will be restored to good health.
Place: Haslet, TX Comments: My prayers, as well as healing scriptures, are with Jeanie and also for Ada Ann. May GOD give you strength and good results to share with us 🙏
Place: Richardson Comments: Unfortunately, I have some bad news to report regarding Jeanne Smith. Jeanne told Barbara Fugate this morning she has ovarian cancer. She is going into UT Southwestern on Monday for further tests and diagnostics to determine the extent of the cancer. Jeanne asked that I put this on our GB and ask all her friends for prayers. Later next week when she has all the results she will let Barbara know. We have another classmate that needs our prayers. Please ask God to help Jeanne through this.
Place: Ada Ann's aortic valve replacement Comments: I know we've all been worried about Ada Ann because we haven't heard from her. I knew nothing about a heart aortic valve replacement so I looked it up today. Here's why we haven't heard from her, it's a very serious operation and she's most likely still in the hospital. I've copied some info from a site.
"After an aortic valve replacement, you'll usually need to stay in hospital for about a week. The time it takes to fully recover varies depending on factors like your age and overall health. Your breastbone will usually heal in about 6 to 8 weeks, but it may be 2 to 3 months before you feel your normal self again." It went on to say it is a serious operation taking 4-5 hours. Please keep praying for Ada Ann as I know she must still be in the hospital. All we can do is pray God watches over her and brings her through all of this as we wait for our dear friend to be able to go home. We will wait and continue to pray for some good news soon.
Place: Richardson Comments: Carol, I haven't seen or heard anything on Ada Ann either. But I doubt Joe or her kids would be posting anything. We will probably have to wait until she is able to post herself. I'm praying it all went very well and she will feel better with the new valve.
Prayers as we wait for that confirmation. |
