Place: Edmond Comments: I know I am a broken record, but since we cannot predict with certainty who will sail through an infection and who won’t...please...be...very...careful.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks for the update Donnie! Connie has been in ICU since 11-5. Praying both will get better soon and Connie can come home.
Place: Garland Comments: I texted Ronnie today and he said he was doing ok but Connie is still in ICU but doing better.
Place: Richardson Comments: Ada Ann & Mario, I'm worried because not hearing back from either of them is not normal. Ronney may have gotten worse and maybe Connie is still in ICU and can't respond. Geez, if anyone hears from them or knows anything, please let us know. Thank you! And yes, Don L. put a lot of work and love into that slide show. He had it on his PC and set it up at our 45th reunion. I watched it all again and the memories came flooding back. Our guys were so young, some only 17 when they joined. Many thanks to all of them for their service and many for their long time career service!
Place: McKinney, Tx. Comments: Sandy, I texted Ronney this week on Tuesday, and asked him how Connie was doing,..but I have yet to hear back from him. Most of the time that we text each other it doesn't take very long to hear back from him...today it's been a week since I last heard from him, and at that time he was at a Cracker Barrel having lunch.
Place: NH Comments: Don, your veteran tribute is wonderful. It is such a super way to remember our servicemen and women. Sandy, I left a text message for Connie earlier in the week and have not heard back from her.
Place: Richardson Comments: Tanya, thanks for the FYI but that is not either of our Sammy Smiths! We have a Sammy R. and a Sammy M. Smith. The Mrs Sammie Smith you saw is not either of our '66ers wife. Has anyone talked with or heard from Ronney or Connie?? Is Connie still in hospital? I hope not, but no word all week.
Place: Edmond Comments: My deepest condolences. 🥀
Place: Soc 65 Comments: Sorry, that should have read Mrs Sammie Smith, not Sammie.
Place: SOC 65 Comments: Sandy, I just read that Sammie Smith had passed away. He was such a sweetheart. He was listed in the Dallas Morning News today. R.I.P. Sammie.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Thank y'all for the kind words regarding the vets' slide-show. I've had a pretty good e-mail response from the vets on my DL as well. My normal telework schedule and getting as many new photos added as possible, plus a viable platform to present them, have occupied most of my time lately. So much, that my usual b'day & anniv announcements have fallen behind. Plus, just as I was posting the link for the slide-show, I noticed Ronney had mentioned he was still struggling with COVID and his wife was in ICU - OMG! I'm so sorry to hear this news and pray that both will recover and be home together again very soon.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes Paul, Don L. did a very good job on creating the SOC '66 Veteran's slide show. If you haven't seen it, please scroll down a few posts and you will see an imagine of Barry Hosford, 1st person on slideshow. Click on Barry or anywhere on the imagine and the slide show will start. You don't even have to go to You Tube. Don did a great job!
Place: Edmond Comments: Don, Thanks for putting this together. A fitting reminder.
Place: Richardson Comments: See Don Lincoln's posts below. If you will click on the picture of Barry Hosford it will actually play the YouTube slide show right here. It's a really good well put together slide show by Don. I believe you'd enjoy seeing all our 66 guys! Thanks Don!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Not sure why the viewer doesn't show the link, but opens inside the g/b instead. Here's the link so you can paste into a browser separately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S54CNzUKg6o |
