Sally I don't know if you remember Lena Lyles, but she was, and probably still is managing The Belmont.  It's a pretty neat place and has a fabulous view.

Happy Birthday Bobby - hope it is great!  Thanks for dinner tonight Toni - I know that it was great!!!!!

Mom is going to have to have a test tomorrow to see if she has any blockages.    They did  a stress test and said there is definitely a problem - they just don't know what.

Sally, I'm guessing the author of the 36 Hours in Dallas was attempting to write a positive article about Big D.  I'm not sure she got there.  She seemed to have some fairly dated and preconceived notions about what Dallas is all about.  From out here on the west coast, it seemed she was spinning her story a bit poorly...condensending, almost.  Of course, you'll get the same spin if a Texas writes about NYC....or LA.

jack, what part is wrong?  Nothing in the article talked about  the Dallas I lived in but that was years ago. I would have preferred some local color--honky tonks, dance halls, etc.  No more longhorn ballroom-- is there any of this left in Dallas? Other parts of Texas have them but. . ..    I thought it was interesting that they found the Belmont Hotel in Oak Cliff. The place must be  Cool-- or Hot or. . . whatever!

BLB -- Hope that you have a great birthday.  61 is not so bad.  It's all in the attitude.

Buddy, sorry for the mix-up, and you got P. Kinslow's name right.  I knew Kincaid didn't sound quite right.

Karen RL - Hope all is well with your mom.  I'll be praying for good news.

Happy Birthday Bobby and glad to hear you have rounded the corner on the last year and things are looking up.

KarenRL, don't pet that brown "kitty" as it may be a young puma, or if it's ears are "pointy", it may be a coyote.  I will be thinking and praying for your sweet mom to improve quickly.

Linda P- I think that was BLB's day dreaming on the beauties, but on the subject all you had to do is walk the halls of SOC for a young mans dream. Starting with a Linda P, or P Kinslow or look alike P Vetkoetter to Pasty Cline (I fall To Pieces-song) and on and on. Some of the lucky guys were able to hang on to that beauty. Look at uglies Dale S, Mike M, Jimmy H, Donnie F to name a few. Don L and I had to go out of state to find that beauty that would stay with us.

Happy "Trails To You"today BLB nothing wrong with day dreaming, pander on my friend
