Place: Richardson Comments: I don't remember Carl's but, our little store was Autry's on the corner of Lancaster & Kingsley. I would ride my bike the 3 blocks up to Autry's and get milk & bread usually 1 to 2 times a week. I never paid any money so I guess it was on a tab. Of course Mr. Autry knew us, so he knew whose tab it went on. Those were the days, I could ride my bike anywhere and there were no problems or worries about me getting kidnapped.
Place: Lake Fork Comments: Hey you Lisbonites, Do you guys remember Carl’s Grocery Store? We went there during the week to get groceries and Carl just put it on our tab. Daddy got paid on Saturday and we took cash to Carl’s to settle our tab.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: I vote for Standard Time - all of the time, everywhere. ⏰
Place: Sachse Comments: I vote for standard time, year round!
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm with you guys, let's set them forward tonight and STAY on DST. Period, that's it! Quit making us change everything twice a year. If the Federal Gov. would take it to the people I believe an overwhelming number would vote to keep it at one time. my vote would be DST year round.
Place: Edmond Comments: Don, let’s set the clocks ahead once and forever.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Geez, wish we could have a national referendum to pick ONE time zone. Can't adjust the Earth's seasonal changes by messing with the clocks every 6 mos., so why not leave 'em alone and just go with it? Some states and countries already do and they seem to be just fine! ![]() H a p p y B i r t h d a y !!! wishes go out to Sandra McMakin Crowe, today, Mar. 12th! Sandy – Hope you’re having a great one today with family and loved ones. Best wishes for many more to come!
Place: Richardson Comments: Hard to believe it's already time to lose an hour this weekend! Don't forget to set your clocks forward Sat night, or Sun morning, as it's DST again!
Place: Edmond Comments: Sam, would love to help but we have never been there.
Place: Richardson Comments: Sammy - I've not been to Branson but I've seen numerous posts by other SOCites from other classes talking about how it's an annual trip for them. You may want to post this on FB & if I can "share", I will, as I'm friends with many from 63, 64, 65 & 67. Bet you'll get some good info.
Place: Lake Fork Comments: We are going to Branson this June. Can any of you recommend a good hotel ? Preferably comfortable beds?
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes indeed! Also, R-e-s-p-e-c-t, Boot Scootin' Boggie and any Sly & the Family Stone song. I don't know why loud music and open windows/sunroofs make us feel good but, it always worked at Kiest Park on Sundays!!
Place: Edmond Comments: Sandy, that makes me smile thinking about you driving around with your sunroof open listening to “Born to be wild.” 😁😂😁😂😆
Place: Beautiful in Richardson Comments: I bet you are going stir-crazy Paul. I've been quarantined for a year and I'm going nuts, you've been quarantined for at least a year and a half. Maybe 2 years now? I'm glad you're at a good point in your chemo & recovery and I know getting back out and going to the gym will make you feel better. Heck, sometimes on these pretty sunny days, I open that big sun roof, turn up my favorite song on the radio and just drive around. Sun, music and fresh air just makes me feel better!
Place: Edmond Comments: Congratulations, Sandy. We are almost two weeks after our second shot when my oncologist says I can start going to the gym again. i am going stir crazy. |
