Hail Alma Mater
Hail Gold and White
The frozen tundra
Gives us quite a fright.
Loyal and faithful ever we’ll be
We need 66 degrees to end this misery.

Hi Sandy, yes I did get your email, and it was so kind of you to send it to me...and congrats to you and Don on your wedding anniversary.
Barbara and I met on Valentine’s Day in an elevator back in 1979, so it’s a special day for us too!
Carol, I’m so glad you got the Valentine’s card I sent you, and that you liked it so much, don’t think we went to the same grade school, right, but if we had, I would have given you that one for sure. Hope your not running low in KS on electricity like us N Texans are right now.

The last time the US experienced a weather pattern like this was in the early 1900s.

Well fellow SOCites, it took us 55 years but we managed to bring the Arctic south of I-70, I-40, I-30, I-20 and even I-10.  ❄️🥶🥶🧊.  Whatever will we do to top this?   Nothing this drastic, I hope.

And they said tonight will be colder than last night . . .  say WHAT!!  So many of our /soc friends already have frozen pipes, no electricity and another arctic night.  hunker down and pray for sun & higher temps.

Mario, if you are looking in on us . . .  did you get the email I sent you?  If you changed your Em address you forgot to tell me. [smile]  I hope y'all have electricity up there as so many don't in the McKinney area.  Let us know if you're OK.  Carol also ask about you in an earlier post.

Our temp dropped to 7 degrees overnight, lost power between 3:30-9:45 this a.m., and we have 4-6" of snow - all local records since the 60's.

I hope that Mario will visit here soon and see this.
Thank you, Mario, for the sweet card! It reminded me of precious elementary school days - 🥰. Hope that you and Barbara stay well. So looking forward to seeing y’all at our next ‘66 get-together; fingers crossed 🤞 for this Fall.
Stay warm and well, everyone. 💛🤍💛

The University of Siberia just offered reduced rates for the Spring semester.  The only catch is if it never turns to Spring you pay full tuition.

Dang it . . .  we Texans didn't sign up for Alaska weather!!  This cold has gone all the way down to Houston & Galveston.  Our dtr in Dripping Springs, it's sw of Austin, has same thing there. single digit temps and more snow than we have.  I'm so worried they may loose all their trees.  Her husband owns his own tree company and they have hundreds of trees ready to go out in huge planters there on their land, they live in the country.  This cold could kill the trees by freezing the root balls. If it kills all his trees that will be a huge financial loss!

One of our upstairs sink pipes is frozen this morning despite leaving cabinet doors open & heat on upstairs all this time. Just hoping it will slowly thaw and we won't have water running everywhere.

How's everyone else doing, besides Paul, who is in Siberia!? I know many of you are experiencing rolling blackouts.  So far, not here yet. This arctic cold is going to cause so much damage to all of us in TX and OK.  Looks like 2021 is taking it's cue from 2020.

Paul - I hadn't either until I was browsing Total Wine (I love that liquor store) and was looking for Bailey's Coffee liquor.  All sold out but for one bottle of Bailey's Chocolate Cherry.  What the heck, I bought it.  Best liquor purchase I've made in awhile, except maybe the Tequila last summer. [smile]

Thanks Jack, this is the coldest Feb 14 I can ever remember!   The snow has definitely picked up and larger flakes.  It's coming!  I can hardly wait to get up in the morning!!!

Paul, If you like a little kick to your coffee, pour a little, or a lot, of Bailey's Chocolate Cherry in it.  I don't usually care that much for Bailey's but, when I saw the Chocolate Cherry . . .  I bought it.  I love chocolate covered cherries candy and this is soooo good in my coffee!!!!
