Comments: Kathy, sure hate that you can't play in the tournament, i was kinda countin' on you to keep tabs on Jack & see that he didn't get into trouble. Toni . . . You're up!
Comments: Jack, Sorry, but I just found out today I have a seminar I have to attend the 1st and 2nd, so I'm out. I was so looking forward to seeing all the guys in their "girlie", colorful, outlandish outfits!!! I'm sure there will be pics for all of us to enjoy.
Comments: Happy Jack....Bruce asked me to tell you that he would like to renew his invitation of last weekend....for Friday night or sometime Saturday. I guess you know what he was talking about.
Comments: Robert, I watched the YouTube video....how funny...been there a few times myself!
Comments: Robert, I just watched the You Tube Ode to Forgetfulness. Hilarious! I so relate!
Comments: Let me see if I can catch-up on GB & shed some light on a few posts. I sent em to Cynthia letting her know our class is having our semi-annual Get-Together on Oct 3, so we won't be able to attend the SOC luncheon she & Martha are hosting. Toni - Congrats on both accounts! Looks as if last part of 09 & 1st Q 2010 will be a big one for new Grandones!! To ALL- Bec not everyone reads GB daily I want to expand on the Brandon Michael Fugate Project aka BMF Project. Most of us, thank God, will never have the need to come in contact with a Search & Rescue team! Unfortunately, Donnie & Barbara's family know all too well how it works. What they found is the men & women on these Search & Rescue teams are volunteers! Also, they have to buy their own equip! Therefore, their abilities are limited to the equip they can afford to buy. A bond was forged during those cold Dec temperatures at Lake Ray Hubbard between the Searchers & the Fugates. They knew something needed to be done to help these dedicated people do their jobs better so families don't have to go through the agony of a prolonged search. Michael Fugate & his dad, Donnie, decided to do something to help. They created the BMF Project, a charity, to raise money to help buy much needed equip for the Searchers. This golf tournament is only one of the many fund raising events that help benefit the BMF Project. I'm very proud of all our 66 & the 67 SOCites who have registered to play in this tournament!! You can get lots of info abt the BMF project by visiting the website Donnie set up at www.thebmfproject.org Last but not least - JD, the last time I saw that cr cd was when McMakin & I used it at the mall during the 4th of July sales. I swear, McMakin left with it in her purse & no one has seen it since!!!
Comments: Barb and Don, I also am sorry for your loss. I am also sorry I was not here to read a post about it. May the Lord bless you and comfort your heart and the heart of all family members. Below is a link that I thought I just had to share here, Well worth a gander I reckon.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lSliucgygc Jack , thanks for the well wishes about fishing. Jolae has promised more trips soon. For those of you that I have not updated, I can't drive anymore so I try to make it joyable for her also. sava ? Can any of you tell by this post that I am bored ? Naw , never happen. Later folks. got backgammon contest to catch up on. Robert and Jolae
Comments: Robert glad you got out and were able to do some fishing. I don't think there is any such thing as a bad day fishing. You got to work on that not falling down stuff. You might break something and you don't need that. We're looking for sunshine again today. Maybe the clouds will break later today.
Comments: JD: My goodness. Jacob has sure grown up. I know you are proud of him. One of these days, my son and daughter-in-law will hopefully give me a grandson. Right now, though, my son is trying to get over a nasal infection, bronchitis, and the shingles. OUCH. I don't think making babies is on his mind at the moment. Have fun with the grandbabies.
Comments: Robert, you are right. Patrick Swayze was in the "North and South" mini-series.
Comments: I haven't been on our website much lately. Been too busy trying to find work. But, I just noticed the Brandon Michael Fugate Memorial Golf Tournament. What a wonderful idea and tribute to the late grandson of two of our most beloved classmates. When I noticed this, I have to admit, it brought tears to my eyes. I wish I were a golfer so I could play in the tournament. But, alas, I am not. Barb and Don, we love you. Our hearts were broken when you lost Brandon. We cried along with you. I feel you already know that. I just hope this tournament will be something that will bring you peace and pride. I feel it will be a fitting tribute to a talented young man whose life in this world was tragically cut short. I hope you will enjoy the tournament. And, I am sure Brandon is looking on you two with a big smile, waiting for you to rejoice with him in Heaven. I must tell you, Barb & Don, that I know you still shed tears for Brandon. But, when I asked the two of you about how everyone is doing, you both had genuine smiles and talked about Brandon with such pride. All I could think of was, "How Wonderful." Brandon would surely want you smiling and proud of him. Thanks for being strong, great friends of our class.
Comments: Howdy, I have seen that old river, Trinty, run bank to bank many a times. We have had some nice sunshine here during the day. Went fishing and I am glad that catching fish is not a requirment <-sp?> for fishing. Jolae and I had a great time. I got some appt. set up with a therapist for the next few weeks, to help me stop falling down so much. About Patrick Swaze, was he also in a TV-mini seris called "North and South" ? I really like those kind of shows and may see if I can find it on eBay. Jolae is good at that kind of stuff. I am sorry if my topics seem off from everyone elses , its cause I don't come around that often. But I am working on it. I have been emailing Richard McCord lately. Anyone remember him and invite him to the gb.? ok, got to go check email. Love ya people . Lord bless you. p.s. Did anyone from here go to the big march on Washing D.C. ?
Comments: JD, tell Guido not to come to my neighborhood as I never had your credit card...Shortcake was in charge of it the last time I knew about its whereabouts! She may have had her rolling mansion redecorated by now! John Southworth was trying to talk her into loaning it to him recently!! About my grandone....it's ANOTHER boy....and is due at the end of January 2010, and that will take three boys for them. SNL, fences have been mended.
Comments: Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
Comments: How about another SOC luncheon. Martha Speaks and I are sponsoring a luncheon on October 3rd at 11:30 am at La Calle Doce. We have been there before and enjoy a private room at the back of the restraurant. http://www.lacalledoce-dallas.com/food/ The address is 415 W. 12th Street just off I35 in North Oak Cliff. You can also view the new structure at the Oak Cliff Bank Tower a couple of blocks away made from materials of the Twin Towers after 911. Please let Martha Speaks or myself know if you plan to come by the Thursday prior to the luncheon so we can get a head count for the restraurant to set up for us. If you miss the deadline and still want to come, COME! We will make room for you. Email - cahuse@sbcglobal.net or marthaspeaks@sbcglobal.net Hope to see many of you. |
