Place: Richardson Comments: Don - that was amazing! I hadn't seen anything about it but the things they can do with drones is fascinating. It may not be long before we see drones doing colorful displays overhead instead of Fireworks displays on the 4th of July.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Kathy saw this in the news earlier this week - maybe some of you did also. 500 drones launched into the sky over Dublin, Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Mar. 17th - pretty amazing: https://www.nbcnews.com/video/500-drones-illuminate-dublin-night-sky-for-st-patrick-s-day-108709445780
Place: Sunny & Beautiful Richardson TX Comments: This weekend is gorgeous! Makes up for the horrible Feb. Yesterday was 1st day of spring and today is a repeat of sun and blue skies. Went to my brother's house yesterday to celebrate my SIL b-day. Mango margaritas, hamburgers cooked out on the grill and more desserts than we could eat. We've all been vaccinated for more than 2 weeks and we didn't wear a mask. It was absolute heaven! I felt a freedom I haven't felt in more than a year. May we all continue to fight the invisible killer (covid-19) by getting vaccinated and stamping out the thing that has caused so much misery and death. Better days are ahead, do your part in getting rid of covid-19.
Place: Richardson Comments: Tomorrow is the first day of spring. Hoping for a little less wind & a lot more sunshine! The buds on the trees are a sign of better days to come. There's a light at the end of this dark tunnel we've all been in for more than a year. Hello sunshine!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Sandy & Jack, we appreciate the kind words! Uh, Dale - nice piggy-back. H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Gordy Johnson today, Mar. 18th! Gordy – Hope you’re having a great one today, celebrating another candle being added to your cake. Best wishes for many more to come!
Place: Grosvenor, Texas Comments: Don, uhh, What Jack said.
Place: Sachse Comments: Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to Don and Kathy. May you enjoy many more!
Place: Richardson Comments: Happy 25th Anniversary Don & Kathy!! May you have many more great anniversaries to share!
Place: Edmond Comments: Donald Lincoln! Such mischief!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Many thanks for the kind word, Paul. I wouldn't call our Marfa lights all that 'mysterious' - at least after some of us determined they could be taken out by a Daisy BB gun!
Place: Edmond Comments: Did Marfa Avenue have mysterious lights like Marfa Texas? Probably not, huh.
Place: Edmond Comments: Don and Kathy...the most heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful occasion. 🥳
Place: LV, TX Comments: Dale - Coincidence in house #'s, 1322 - we were on Marfa Ave., off Ramona Ave., which crossed Overton Rd. Coach Leon Turner, Clara Oliver Elem., lived 3 doors up on the corner for a while, Delma Williams lived 3 doors down, Sarah Duniho, Zita Campbell & Frankie Petrick lived 1 block down. 2 small drive-in grocery stores were on opposite sides of Ramona & Overton - V-Mac, where David Mitchell worked, and Dobb's (formerly Nick's since '36), where I worked for a big guy named 'Tiny'. Our old tel# was FR-2212, then FR4-2212, then 374-2212; grandmothers' were WHitehall2-5229 (Lincoln) & -8041 (Robinson). ![]() Now, I don't know what part of my brain that's stuck in. But, there's another part that will say go on to the store - you only need 3 items (you already know where this is heading, don't you?). Then, after walking all over the store, wracking my brain, I wind up calling home to ask what the hell that 3rd one was! ![]() Lastly, I'd like to mention that today, Kathy & I are starting to celebrate our 25th "Silver" wedding anniversary. It was the '2nd time around' for both of us and we've been blessed ever since - and so have our sons. To be continued ...
Place: Richardson Comments: Richard, it's a good thing you have family close by!
Place: California Comments: I'm lucky if I remember how to get home today. |
