Place: Grosvenor Texas Comments: SNL, We came through the freeze Ok. Our power was off and on but held temps in the house, barn and well house so we had no busted pipes. We kept the cows bellies full of hay and range cubes and they suffered but came through OK. We had a calf born a few days before the -3 degree night and it was jumping around every day. We have burned about 4 cords of wood and are probably responsible for the food shortages at the stores. Can't pass the fridge without grabbing just a little snack. Glad to hear y'all did well also.
Place: Richardson Comments: We're good Yuvonne but have been wondering how yo & Dale were down there in the extreme cold & off/on power. Hope you didn't suffer too much damage to your pipes or your cattle! I listened to the funniest commentary by Bob on FB today. It was regarding Coke . . . need I say more! He is hysterically funny!!!
Place: Brownwood Texas Comments: I hope everyone is being safe and warm and have fully recovered from the cold weather snap.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Ada - Thank you very much for your Valentine's Day card! The weather slowed down our mail delivery, but it eventually caught up.
Place: LV, TX Comments: This note is for Mario Fuentes and Larry Thomas. I noticed you both mentioned something about your spouse or marriage recently: Mario - You mentioned meeting Barbara in an elevator on Feb. 14th back in 1979, so that was a special date. Larry - You said your 50th anniversary is coming up April 24th, so, you and Susan were married in 1971. Would appreciate a 1-liner containing the location and any special circumstances you'd care to mention about your wedding day. If OK with you, I'll add your entries to the listing of anniversaries and post an announcement on the guestbook when that date arrives. Anyone else out there who isn't in the birthday or anniversary listing and would like to be, just drop me a note here or use the e-mail link in the above right corner.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Gotta few b'day announcements to catch-up ... H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Rosemary Zapata Cooper, for Feb. 19th , plus, Eileen Sandefer and Bovie Browning for Feb. 23rd!
Place: Richardson Comments: Larry, so great to hear from you & that you finally retired! Don't worry about the email, there's a "safe guard" built into the GB that allows you to leave your email but No One Can Actually See it! They click on the Blue Email word & can send you a message but they never see your email. Neat, huh? If someone sends you an email you can decide if you want to exchange emails or numbers. Ever since 2003 we've been having "Get-Togethers". We do it at a local bar inside a big hotel. They never have much business on a Saturday afternoon so it's usually a win/win for us and them. It's Free and just ask Jack, we have a lot of fun!! I sincerely hope we get to resume these Get-Togethers this Fall but the Pandemic has changed everything for all of us. Hope you will come back here often and share some experiences with us. Sandy (Norman) Lynn
Place: Denton Comments: Previous post had typo on email address.
Place: Denton, TX Comments: Hope everyone did not have too much damage and survived the Texas Artic front. My wife and I up in Denton did well, although it did get down into the minus digits: -5 F I think. Lucky in our neighborhood we did lose power and so far no pipe leaks, but unsure on our sprinkler system. Hopefully the mini get togethers will start again soon. I should be able to make a few now that I have retired. I retired in July. Will be having my 50th Wedding anniversary this April (April 24th). I hope to be able to visit my Mom in a few weeks. She still lives in Dallas and my older brother takes care of her. He is a 64 SOC graduate. She turns 98 this July. He has decided to keep the house quarantined for now, but can visit around mid-March. I should have my 2nd dose of the vaccine by then.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Yes, Eddy - you and your wife should come to the next ‘66 get-together. A few ‘67ers already attend the gatherings regularly, and I have invited Stan Shipman and his wife to start attending. Fingers crossed that we can resume our minis this Fall. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Place: Edmond Comments: Ahhhhh, Paris...the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, croissants, Texas BBQ...
Place: Richardson Comments: Eddy, always nice to hear from a classmate we haven't seen or heard from in a long time! Now that you've found us, please stop by often & comment on things. If you don't mind, would you give me your current address and maybe a contact number and email? My Em is below. I keep a database and when we have reunions or get-togethers I could let you know. Until the Pandemic hit last year we were having twice-a-year casual Get-Togethers and 30 to 40 of us SOC '66ers would gather for an afternoon filled with fun & laughter and then quite a few of us would go to dinner afterwards. If things will get back to normal we will resume our fun Get-Togethers and we'd love for you to attend. It's Free & the fun is priceless! BTW, I'm Sandy (Norman) Lynn at sandylynn@sbcglobal.net
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Welcome to our Class of ‘66 guestbook, Eddy! 💛🤍💛🤍💛🤍💛
Place: Paris, Texas Comments: Hello guys and ladies!
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, I spoke with her last week. I had sent her a Valentine's card to the facility she is in and was glad to her she got it. She is still waiting for surgery but was in good spirits and funny as usual. With the covid cases going down and less hospitalizations for covid I'm hoping she will have surgery soon. |
