KMD...pic is a slide..I will find it and send it to you. Canary Drive Private School....for those of us too young to start first grade. Run by Mrs. Reed (son Bobby Jack was SOC'65). Dennis must have picked out his own shirt...he always was a sharp dresser. The hats were for fire prevention week...remember "Fire, fire, oh dear me. Call Riverside 1....6543".
Comments: Sandy you're right! I was away from Texas TOOO long---a month. Happy Jack---Thanks for lot's of beautiful advice on State Fair highlights there, and OOOOOH YUM! Fried Butter! God Bless Texas! Happy Big Bday to the beautiful Miss Linda! Congrats for the beautiful g-baby to the Irish Lincolns! And yes---HOOK 'EM, HOOK 'UM, and HOKE 'EM! BTW----Did Mr. Nance survive the dreaded "THREAT OF DRIZZLE???"
Comments: Linda, Happy Birthday girl! Hope you're celebrating in style!
Comments: Happy Birthday Linda!! Coasty Don, a word to the wise. Don't come up to DFW and tell them you want to go to Dallas. That confuses them. They think this one is the only one. Little A, if you haven't been in 30 years, you'll hardly recognize the place. The old Electric building is now the Tower Building and is one BIG food court. Try the Nachos Grande at the Hass booth. The fried peaches and cream are at the Dock in the Embarcadro Building and are worth the long line and $5.00 (10 coupons) cost. The fried butter is in one of the food booths on the Midway. The Birds of the World is well worth seeing and we enjoyed the bagpipes and drum corp playing (you have to check where, as on different days they play at different places). Go by the Texas VietNam Memorial, near the main entrance and put a flag sticker next to Bob Hooks name. Ride the air tram across the park, it's pretty at night. Have fun and "HOOK UM"
Comments: Happy Birthday to my , Linda! I know you're on vacation this week, but maybe you'll peek at the GB. Hope your really enjoy your day. Take in the sites for me! Love you like a sister. ![]()
Comments: Thanks for all the kind comments about our 1st grandone, Declan. I really envy his great head of hair! We were pleasantly surprised at the choice of names for the little guy. Declan is quite a common name in Ireland. A Wiki link also refers to Saint Declan, a 5th century Irish bishop. Kathy & I both have Irish roots. Chad & Meredith actually live in Dallas, GA, near Atlanta, instead of LA, altho that's where I met Kathy. We hope to get out there to see them very soon.
Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Linda Perkins Rich, today, 10/14 (in a few more min.)! Hey, Linda – Hope Rudy & your family will be wining & dining you in style to celebrate your big day. Y’all have fun & welcome to the 60+ club - best wishes for a great one!
Comments: Sandy Mc., Isn't the cheer "GOUT! ... GOUT!". Or could that be "GO-UT"?
Comments: And how long were you away from Texas Annette? It's...H o o k ....'em...H o r n s! Don, your grandson is a beautiful baby. I know you are proud of him.
Comments: Karen! Thanks for the good wishes my dear friend, it is soooo good to be back in the USA! There's no place as good as America in the whole wide world! Can't wait for this weekend, we're going to the Cotton Bowl to watch the OU/UT game. Haven't been to the State Fair grounds in over 30 years. Not sure what to expect there, but----GO HORNS!
Comments: Happy late birthday Pat. Congrats to Jerry T. and family on the new arrival. Don L., Declan is a real handsome little dude. Welcome home, Annette. Glad you're back in the states again. Ada Ann, loved your blast from the past photo. If you can find that old photo that you said you had of me, please send to the email link above. Richard, on the late show last night, Conan went outside the NBC Studio and showed that it was raining in L.A. He said the threat of mudslides could be possible but the good news was that they didn't expect the mud to burn.
