Yes, Sam, I heard that too. I think the reporter must have been from out of town or just covering up. from what I have heard all the cops and reporters in town knew Jack Ruby if not personally at least by site. He was one of the known guys in Dallas.

Wishing all SOCites and our friends a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Knowing all of you is ONE of the many things I am thankful for.

Sandy McM - Thanks for the very encouraging news on Brian's recovery.  Can't say enough about the power of prayer within this group.

Don & Barb - Before seeing your post, I was thinking about Brandon earlier as I was struck that it had already been a year since this tragedy.

We're heading to Louisiana to visit Kathy's mom & family til Sat.  Prayers & best wishes to all who pass here for a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Jack,

Sarah and I saw the JFK special. We thought it odd they kept calling him Lee Harold as well. Did you catch the part where they showed Jack Ruby wandering around about 3 minutes before he shot Oswald? Officials thought he was law enforcement officer?

Guess We'll never know the whole truth.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Thanks JS . . . er, I mean John Southworth. (since we're being formal this mrng )  I only had time to decorate the Home & Events pg, but that's what people look at the most.

Donna - I think of you often & pray for you & your dtr as taking care of 3 children at our age is a miracle in itself!  As others said, you have our support!

This yr it will just be Don & I for Thanksgiving.  I asked him what he wanted for dinner & he said ham, sweet potato casserole, english peas, cranberry sauce, rolls & pumpkin pie.  Guess what I'll be doing this evening & in the mrng!    We eat at noon in the Norman household as we have to be finished, kitchen cleaned up & in front of the TV by 3:15!!  GO COWBOYS!!  And Donna, since we aren't playing your Steelers this season . . .  Go Steelers!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my SOC Friends!!!  I'm grateful for each of you & appreciate how we all pull together to support or defend any one of us that needs it.  THANKS for your support of this website & the GB!!  God Bless our SOC Family!!

Jack -- I saw the "Lost Tapes...."  I thought that it was very good also.  It was interesting that the commentator talked about Mrs. Kennedy's bright pink suit.  In one scene, I think that the Kennedy's were exiting Air Force One and the commentator said that usually the President exited first, but he let Mrs. Kennedy exit b/f he did.  Jerry Hill, one of the policeman at the Texas Theater (I think) goes to our church and I he's about 80+ years old now.  If you have last Sunday's DMN, his picture and wife's picture is in the paper for being married 60 years.

Well it is Thanksgiving and a time that brings for our family both tears of sadness and tears of joy. This weekend marks the time when we lost Brandon and we shed tears of sadness for his loss.
But this time also brings tears of joy for all the things we are thankful for. Among these is the love and support that our family has recieved during the past year from our dear SOC friends. We love you all for your caring and your friendship. It means the world to us.

We wish all a great Thanksgiving and hope all of you remember all the things you are thankful for.

We love you all and God Bless.

Don & Barbara

Jack,
I didn't see the show about Lee Harvey Oswald but can't help but wonder if you are watching The National Geographic channel hoping for a film on African Native women and their lifestyles. I'm sure you remember the August edition of 1962 in the Zumwalt library.

Been meaning to ask all day if anyone saw "JFK The Lost Tapes" or something like that title last night on National Geographic channel? It was mostly tape (black & White) of the local broadcast in Dallas on Nov.22, 1963 and the audio that went with it, It was not all the stuff we have been seeing over and over all these years. I found it very interesting. They referred to Lee Harvey Oswall as Lee H. or Lee Harold. The old skylines and Parkland was so much smaller and it was open around it. Keep an eye open for when it is on again and watch or tape it. Wes Wise and Jerry Haynes are reporters during it. I'd like to hear your thoughts about it.
