Comments: Rick - I think Bill's art work was also featured on the D/FW phone book cover that year. The 20th was my first SOC '66 reunion & he was there - great guy. Also, I couldn't get that link to open - Classmates wants me to login with my new e-mail, etc. - not again.
Comments: Dale, I have a autographed, numbered print of the painting that Bill painted for the 1986 state Fair of Texas sesquicentennial. He also wrote a anecdotal comment on the bottom which was nice.
Comments: I was asked to make a speech at a fund raiser for Special Children where they were also having a silent auction. This was back in the 90's and as I perused the items for sale I noticed a beautiful painting by some guy named Bill Hall. I commented that we had a guy in our class by that name. At the end of the banquet an old guy walked up to our table and handed me a signed copy of that painting and introduced himself as Bill Hall, SOC Class of 66. He said he was telling people at his table he once knew a guy named Dale Smiley but that the speaker was much too old and fat to be his classmate. I still have the painting.
Comments: Remember Bill Hall, This is located on classmates. http://www.classmates.com/profile/user/view?registrationId=8710862184&s=email&e_prod=WN&e_date=012809&e_ver=A&e_slot=L2&e_content=A2&e_target=CM3878&e_sub=&fromEmail=true Bill if you're lurking why don't you post here on the SOC 66 guestbook. We would like to hear from you
Comments: Hola Todo Mundo, oops, sorry SNL, I meant to say Hello everyone. It's a new day and all is well. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Comments: Sand McM - We all need some form of 'boot camp' to help keep us in shape. But, I'd think you would be near the bottom of the list of folks who might consider lipo. Major kudos for your courage, however, & prayers that you will do well & not disable anything. I sure wish I had my Oliver legs back again, but walking the hill country will have to do for now. Sometimes, the dogs try to drag me because they're 3 yr-olds & I'm ..... not. ![]() Speaking of worn out legs, I need to catch-up with Pool Guy & see how he's mending & whether his nurse is keeping up with the beer & ice cream requests.
Comments: Prayers needed here. Starting Boot Camp Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. My son suggested I get my money back and do lipo. He said he would go with me. What would we do without our sons. Aren't they just precious! ![]() Speaking of precious, I just saw a little doll on the whazit page. Ada Ann, Sophie is beautiful.
Comments: Yes SNL, I am keeping grandson Luke updated on the adorable Sophie. I will submit a new photo soon so Sophie can see her possible "Mr. Right." ![]()
Comments: 2 more cks this evening! Thank You to Longhorn Smiley and Jim Young!! Also, thanks for the nice notes I've been getting along with the cks. It's good to know y'all enjoy the GB whether you post or not. Posting is not a requirement, but it sure makes for a more "interesting" GB!! ![]() I'll be out of the ofc tmo, I'll catch up on Sat. Y'all have a great wekend!!!
Comments: Hey Karen MD, are you keeping baby Luke posted on how cute & adornable baby Sophie is? ![]() Recvd 4 cks last night. THANK YOU KarenMD, Jerry Tillery, Roy Goodloe & Pool Guy!!
Comments: Ada, Sophie is sooooo cute! Her little eyes just twinkle with mischief. She must get that from you!
Comments: Brookmere!....thanks, Karen !
Comments: Ada Ann, Sophie has definitely got your smile. ![]() Dale, just like your backwards memory of the Spelling Bee back at Oliver, you don't even remember the pool by Clara Oliver. I swam there regularly in the summer months. It was called Lizzie Oliver Park and the street that runs beside it was Brookmere.
Comments: Jim Y. and Dale, yes there was a pool, but not directly behind the school. It was in back on the southeast end of the school, closer to the street side. Not sure of the street name....help me out ?????
Comments: I vote for Dale as the puniest guy in the class, maybe the whole school! Little A, I'm not sure they can hear or see (I think they are not trying) and I KNOW they don't think. They and their followers will tell you they are smarter and know what is best for us. They will talk slower and louder and maybe WE"LL understand. |
