Comments: Not to sure I like being referred to as a "Hen" but since it was Karen I guess we will let it pass! Happy belated BD Gordy. Hope that you are feeling much better and still planning on going on your Alaska cruise. Laying around on those ships can do wonders for you.
Comments: We got a good 4" or more here KMD and the drifts on the side of the hse and on top of the shrubs were huge! Susan & All - No, I don't have a place finalized yet for our June 5 Get-Together. They wont really confirm it this far out, but I'll get it soon. Good News regarding Dane Thornton - t/w Janet H today & he left the hospital a week ago & spent the last week in PT. He's doing good, but trying to get his meds adjusted as he is also diabetic. Janet said she knew he was feeling better as he is now talking a blue streak! Dane's family is certainly breathing a sigh of relief & they thank you for the prayers!
Comments: Sheesh! Enough white stuff already! We got about 3 inches of snow in Sachse. I know that's not much to you northerners, but I remember as a child wondering if this would be a year that we would even have snow in Dallas as we didn't have snowfall every year back then. This makes about 4 or 5 snowfalls. I'm having trouble fully comprehending this global warming that we are supposedly experiencing. ![]() Well, I'm off to work in the snow on this cold Spring day. Later.
Comments: "I noticed a place isn't listed" (One of these days, I'm going to learn to proof read my messages before I post them!)
Comments: SNL, I just looked to see when the next mini is. I noticed a place is listed. Do you not have that finalized yet?
Comments: I had a coon skin hat too! I loved to wear that hat and sing the theme song. I had me some cowgirl boots a few years before and I wore them everywhere I went. They were so cute with my dresses. Happy Belated birthday to you, Gordy! What a dreary day. Welcome, Spring ![]() Shoot the stupid groundhog! How long did it take before they released you from Parkland, Rick? or were you sent to Green Oaks? Dandy Don, are you ok?
Comments: I had a coonskin cap too. Never tried wearing it to school. Funny thing I remember is that the tail snapped on the hat. You could wear it with or without the tail! Looks like I got down and left the area just in the nick of time!! Wanted to wait for Rick "The Streaker" to show up, but had to leave as I didn't want to meet the boys in blue.
Comments: Anyone you know? http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/yahoolatestnews/stories/031910dnmetnaked.1c36ba151.html
Comments: Rick, a "hen party" is a gathering of "chicks" and as the photos show, they were all "hot chicks". BTW, the person who stole your Davy Crockett cap probably saved you from a lot of black eyes and fat lips. Those things were really only cool on Mr. Crockett, way back in the day.
Comments: I had a coon skin cap with a tail hanging out the back. I wore it to E M Pease school and someone "borrowed" it when I wasn't looking. I wonder if it was Fess Parker ?
Comments: "HEN PARTY" Not my words, Karen MD coined the phrase. But I will stay out of the barnyard from now on. Thanks for the advise. I am afraid of the dire consequences.
Comments: In case you didn't hear, Davy Crockett / Fess Parker died yeaterday!! He was one of my idols back in the 50s. How many of you guys had a coonskin cap?? My bro did! Fess Parker was later Daniel Boone. The obit is in today's DMN. He was a true Texan & a graduate of UT, he played several of our Texas heros & made them come to life!
Comments: Now Rick you have been around enough to know the barnyard is a dangerous place. Watch your step. There is no telling what you might put your foot in. And NEVER go in there barefooted!!! Been hoping Coasty Don would check in and we could hear his side of the story!
Comments: Ricky - After all day on the PC, by 6:30 or so I turn it off. With our new found dayight I'm doing other things in the evening. Rickypoo, You are walking into dangerous territory . . . Beware!
Comments: Rick, stay out of the barnyard, you might get pecked |
