Don -- Wish I was out there in the bluebonnets; you have a good eye for taking pics, especially bluebonnets. Karen MD -- Congratulations on your granddaughter's graduation from h.s. I know what a proud grandma you must be.
Comments: Well, if Linda and Mike and Karen aren't gonna be at the June 5 party then .... Knees in The News: This just in ... spouse Dru will be having a total knee replacement operation (right knee) on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 1st. Hoping for hospital release by Friday, June 4th. This morning I consulted my Magic 8-Ball and asked the question "Will me and Dru be at the party?". The answer came up "Outlook Not Good". Dang, daddy!
Comments: By the way guys, Mike and I won't be able to come to the June get-together as planned because my olderst granddaughter Kira will be graduating from high school at 2 PM that day. There is a reception at her home afterward, but if it doesn't last too long, we will try to come for the last hour and go to dinner afterward as usual. It all depends on how long the festivities last. I can't believe I have a grandchild graduating this year.
Comments: SNL, the pics of Brooke are too precious for words. Loved them. Don, I so enjoyed your bluebonnet photos. Any one of them would make a great screensaver on a computer. Thanks for sharing. JAda, those coral flowers are Indian Paintbrush, and they are as abundant and beautiful and the bluebonnets.

Comments: Ada Ann -- Arboretum sounds wonderful; in Bishop Arts, there is Hattie's (white table cloths), Vera Cruz, Bolsa (loud). There is a nice "fu fu" restaurant -- Cretia's on McKinney. It's near Javier's. You can eat indoors or outdoors and is a pretty restaurant. They have vanilla cupcakes with white buttercream icing to die for. The restaurant's main bakery is in Duncanville and they have lots of good desserts. SNL -- I won't be at the mini this year, but will be in Rockport, TX.
Comments: Ada, Karen is right! The Arboretum is a wonderful place to spend Mother's Day. I have spent many a Mother's Day there! They also have a wonderful buffet, or you can opt for a picnic on the grounds if the Bishop Arts District doesn't work out. Any place in the B.A.D. would be great but also noisy. If you go to the Arboretum, please don't forget your most comfortable walking shoes! A wheel chair would probably make Joe's mother's trip much more enjoyable - at least that worked for us with John's mother. They may rent them. Also don't forget your camera - there are many Kodak moments! I would spend every Mother's Day there if I could convince my family.
Comments: Hey JAda, I don't know much about the Bishop Arts District but another activity that might be fun for your Mom is to visit the Dallas Arboretum. Also, maybe we should introduce her to my Dad who is a spry 92.  
Comments: I need the names of some restaurants in the Bishop Arts District. For Mothers' Day, we are going to tell Joe's Mom that we want to take her out to lunch when we come down in June. Any other ideas of something fun to do with a 90 year old?
Comments: Great Ronney!!! Glad we'll see ya'lls smiling faces on 6-5!!! McGee - After more than 40 + yrs I thought you knew better! Donnie is a sly one. He can look you right in the eye & act innocent.  The only detentions I ever served at SOC was because of him!! I learned early! I have Don L's wild flower pics & they are breathtaking!!! I will post them just as soon as I can. Things are very hectic right now at work & home... too much to do with not enough time & everything at once. Will be in Mosheim, TX all day Sun at the Gauer Family Reunion. TGIF - ya'll have a good wkend! Next week will be better.
Comments: Happy Jack Hawkins, observing Cable Guy Fugate play 18 holes of golf Wednesday, I am convinced the boy is lying to his wife. He pars no.1 and 2, then procedes to out drive Bay Watch Capps on no.3. I"m convinced he quit his job in New Mexico, and is hustling on the muny courses. If he ask to play for a few bucks in June, I would hide my wallet. |
