It's my sweet hubby's B-day today!  No big celebrations are planned...we're still recovering from the triplets & their baby sister being here the last 4-5 days!

As DL reminded us, we have 2 very ill classmates, Mike Dunn & Jack Sanders!  Mike's Dr is still trying to fix the problem with his heart, so let's pray the surgery today will prevent another stroke or heart attack.   Also Jack is recovering from a near fatal accident.  He has a concussion & needs rest, let's pray he listens to his Dr & does what is needed.  Both of these guys need prayers from us!

One last reminder abt Gordy's 4th of July Party at his house! It's Sunday, the 4th, dinner starts at 5:00pm.  Bring a dish & come on out.  We always have fun & lots of great food!  If you need directions, contact me.

I spoke w/Jack Sanders this afternoon.  Pretty much confirmed what's been posted so far.  Ironic he was headed into Waco to get a new windshield for his Jeep & now it's totalled.

He apparently has no recollection from the time of collision til he awakened in the hospital a few days later.  Right front of the gravel truck struck his driver's side door.  EMS had to cut him out of the wreck.

Had his seat belt on, but slid under the dash & has huge scabs on both knees.  Otherwise, no broken bones or other serious injuries that he's aware of.

I told him we were posting g/b updates, thankful that he lived to tell about it, plus sending prayers & best wishes for a full recovery.

He doesn't have a PC, so phone & mail are it.  He rcvd the Army bud's photo from 'Nam I sent Mon.

Thank ya'll for the nice comments about April.  Hard to believe the scrawny little thing of less than 2 lbs at birth has turned into such a cute little 5-yr-old!  And you're right KMD, after they're gone & you settle back into your nice quiet routine . . . only the good memories remain & in no time you're ready to do it again.  One is fun. . . BUT 4 at-a-time is a wee bit too much, at least for a grandma!

Hey Mimi Lynn, that little Miss April is growing up and becoming more adorable every year. Luckily, after a long visit with the grandones, the sometimes daunting task quickly fades into only the sweetest memories and we can't wait to spend time with them again.

Thank God Jack Sanders survived that awful accident. He is in my prayers for a speedy and complete recovery.

Rain drops keep fallin on my head...
After years of driving highways and byways, rural and city roads, I believe that rock haulers and dump truck drivers are the worse on the roads. Because they are paid by the number of loads they make each day, they are ALWAYS in a hurry. They run red lights, speed and turn in front of traffic.
Glad to hear Jack is awake and taking food. Get well soon, Jack!

SNL - What a pretty girl your little April is -- I still love to lick the beaters.  Scrolled thru the 2010 pics of grandones and they are so pretty/handsome.

Sandra -- Ditto -- love the rain.

Good one Rick!  He said it wasn't a City truck but rather an independent Co that hit him, but they do have good ins.  He's very lucky to be alive as the truck hit him on the drivers side.  They gave the driver a ticket for running a red light.

We got RAIN later yesterday & in the wee morning hours!!  It's been coming a slow rain since about 4:30am.  How wonderful!!!!!  Is everyone else getting some of this much needed rain!?

Oh, I put up a new Granone this mrng!  She belongs to Mimi Lynn!

Those Jeeps just weren't made to hold up to collisions with Gravel trucks with idiot drivers. I hope Jack recovers soon. Do you think the truck driver was STONED ?

I talked to Jack Sanders tonight.  On 6-18 he was going to PU a part for one of his jeeps when a gravel truck ran a red light & broadsided him!!  It was loaded with gravel.  They had to cut him out of the jeep!  He spent a wk in the hospital unconscious.  He's home, has to go to the Dr daily.  His brother & 2 dtrs are taking turns staying with him.  It's a miracle he's alive!  He's still a bit woozy & shook up from the whole frightening incident but he's alive & thankful for it.  I told him we were all thinking about him & wished him a speedy recovery.
