Richard,
Zero tolerance started out to simply mean all policies were to be enforced. Some policies leave a little up to interpretation but most are very clear and easily understood. What is missing in these cases of army men handlers and kindergarten kissers expulsions is common sense. While deviant behavior must have consequences I wish we could just concentrate on academic achievement in the psycho-motor, cognitive and affective domains.

Smiley, being an educator you'll appreciate this.  Those tiny army men are getting 1st graders sent home under the "zero tolerance" rules regarding bringing guns to school. So, just make sure you don't stand in the line of fire.

(paying for papa's present with his own cash really is "neato")

Had a great day yesterday. It was Michael's Birthday and we spent the afternoon playing golf with Pool Guy and Happy Jack.  Nothing better than being on the golf course with old friends and your son.

Budman, better watch out, Butterfingers is gearing up for you- looked pretty good yesterday.

As long as you can get on the floor to play with those soldiers and get back up, you're not old.  Just don't vacuum any of them up.

Sandra,
Actually we did have deer steaks. Butterfly back strap, of course, that came from the 8-point that Yuvonne shot.. My birthday gift was a motion sensitive night camera to place at deer feeders to snap pictures of what ever comes to the feeders during the night. It usually catches deer, hogs, raccoons, fox, coyotes and the occasional wet back. Zander, my 5 year old grandson, gave me a package of plastic army men. He picked the gift out and paid for it with his own money. Neato!

Don and Dale happy belated birthday. Dale I am curious about the dinner you had.  Did Von catch, shoot or trap your dinner?  Did you get on of the new steamer mops?

Happy BDay to Dale & Don.

I spoke with Jack Sanders yesterday evening. He is going to therapy several days a week and like Sandy stated he is still a little rattled. Glad to be alive and STILL upset that he tore up one of his Jeeps. Jack seemed to appreciate the call and he said to tell everyone Hello and Thanks for the Thoughts and Prayers. He still has no recollection of the accident, which might be a good thing.

Portland is Oregon's largest city, they have started installing 'indoor' plumbing and hope to start paving the streets sometime next year. What they do have are some of the worst and rudest drivers anywhere, but that shouldn't be a problem for a couple of big-city drivers like you guys.
Oh, remember that the Portland Police are known for shooting criminals or using their tazers first and asking questions later.

Thanks for all the well wishes on, yet, another birthday. It was pretty exciting around here. Yuvonne and I dined in and then went to church. We are getting old, Zeke. Pleased to share the date with Mr. SNL.

On a more serious note, I hope we get a good report on Mike and Jack. I talked with Jack yesterday for about an hour and he is so lucky. He's gonna make it cause he's pretty tough but still has some things to work out. Let's keep them at the top of our list.

JD - Looks like I'll be in Milwaukee again for the week of July 12th.  Please tell those Packers jerks over in Racine that we're coming back for a re-match - and we'll have bail $ handy this time!

H a p p y  B i t h d a y wishes go out to Dale Smiley & Don Broughton today!  Dale – We thought of sending you a wounded #@%&*! bird as a gift – be gracious, now.  Don – We thought of sending you 3-step, pre-fabricated kitchen counter kit, but I guess we’re too late – maybe a First Aid kit instead?  Best wishes to you both, today & for many more happy ones in the future!
