Comments: JD, after your bottled water post, when we get together in Phoenix next May.....I'll buy the drinks.
Comments: I'm glad the political ads are over but am not entirely pleased that the Senate will remain in the Progressive's hands...Reid has already made threats to the Conservatives about the lame duck session.
This brought to mind the following story.
The Haircut.
BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON! If you don't forward this you have no sense of humor. Nothing bad will happen, however, you must live with yourself knowing that laughter is not in your future. Now send it to everyone you know.
Comments: Hey, Don. That's OK. Nothing wrong with belated posts. Thanks for the BD wishes!! I still have trouble imagining I am this old. I am now 3 years younger than my mom when she passed away and a little more than a year older than my brother when he died. On a lighter note, if I live as long as my grandmother, I have 33 more years to go!!!!!! I keep reminding myself of the old saying, age is only a number. My ideal? The most remarkable woman I ever knew. Sybil Maduro Fidanque. She was a dear blind friend who lived a few doors down from me in an apartment in the mid-1970s. She was in her late 80s, but you would never know it by her attitude. She was the first person to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz on Broadway in the VERY early 1900s. She was Arthur Godfrey's piano player for awhile. Had her own national radio show for awhile. Was buddies with Will Rogers, George M. Cohen, Eddy Foy, and such. Had been married to an ambassador from Panama (her native country), known great wealth and lost it all when she divorced under her native country laws. She had cancer, Brights (sp?) disease, and was blind. But, was the nation's No. 1 Blind Contract Bridge player. Her mind was that of a woman in her 20s or 30s. She hated hanging around old folk who acted like old folk. She was very much like Auntie Mame. And, was the sweetest person you could know. Tragically, she died on my 30th birthday. I want to have her spirit and lust for life. And, I wish that same lust for life for each and every one of my fellow SOCites.
Comments: Happy BD Ronney...hope all is well at 63!
Comments: I hate to be the bearer of bad news...especially after the great election of 2010...however, this message is extremely important...please read! DON'T PICK UP WATER BOTTLES - Please Read! Of course I’d pick up a bottle in my front yard or in the mailbox. Wouldn’t you? But not anymore, thanks to this email… Pass this on to everybody you know... Anybody that sees a plastic bottle in their yard would think nothing of picking it up to throw it away. It looks like these things are starting to pop up around the U.S. Check the Snopes web site below, it's pretty scary. Important warning! NOT A JOKE! Pay attention to this. 1. A plastic bottle with a cap (Like a normal water bottle). 2. A little Drano. 3. A little water. 4. A small piece of foil. 5. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM (Less than 30 seconds)!! 6. No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc. People are finding these bombs in mailboxes and in their yards, just waiting for someone to pick it up intending to put it in the trash. It takes about 30 seconds to blow after you move the thing. Check this out on Snopes. It is true. www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/bottlebomb.asp Send it to everyone on your mailing list, I did and it won't hurt to get it several times. I did check out snopes and not only is it true, it shows and tells more about it.
Comments: BELATED H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Ronney McKee, for 11/3! Ronney – Looks like I’m the one who’s trying to catch-up also. Sorry for the late post – working overtime again last night. Hope you enjoyed your big day & didn’t feel a whole lot older – we just get better instead. Best wishes for many happy returns!
Comments: Thank you, Susan! I am catching up with you!!!! hee-hee!!
Comments: Wishing Ronney McKee a Happy 63rd Birthday!
Comments: Pinch Putt McGee, I held your place, front and center, on the couch until the 7th inning stretch (when some leggy redhead wormed her way in). Thanks so much for calling and letting me know you weren't joining us for the game. And thanks for asking me to go with you!! Sorry, Budman, it was Bovie's week to watch him. Bovie usually has him being ball boy for the tennis matches. Guess he slipped away or Bovie "forgot" again.
Comments: Love the picture from inside that truck, Southworth. Makes me remember riding with my Uncle Horace in his old trucks back in the 1950s. What fun times those were. I miss Uncle Horace. He was like a second father to me. I love pictures that stir up my memory and emotions like that. Thanks for posting it. But, tell me. Did you dig that old clunker up after finding it with your metal detector? LOL
Comments: Bay Watch Capps, the Ball Yard was rockin' last night. I've been to Fenway and watched the Redsox play the Cardinals, and Boston is a baseball town.Last night Arlington became one. Attending a World Series Game is a experience of a lifetime. Almost as good as taking your money on the golf course,
Comments: I had the miss fortune to listen to one of your classmates pi-s and moan, whine and cry, about getting FREE tickets last nite to the world series. Complain, complain, about not being able to see it on TV. I am so glade Fingers McGee is in your class because he has no class being in mine. Happy I feel so sorry for you guys and I know you do the best you can with him.
Comments: John, John, John! Maybe next time you'll buy American. Your legs still work. Get to walking. Do your duty and VOTE. I may not agree with your likely choices, but I want you to put your two cents in.
Comments: Can't get the truck started today ... so it looks like no voting for us. ![]()
Comments: Spread. You may "think" you know what left is...but, Brown & Newsom put a whole new definition to it....waaaaaaaaaaay left. Those two make Harry Reid look like Reagan. While I can no longer support the Republican Party, I'm for the Republican candidates here. Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorini are both really smart, capable people...love em' or hate 'em they're both effective at what they do. |
