Place: Good News Regarding Susan Sunde!!

Comments:
Great News!  Susan called me late yesterday & she is going home on Oct 20th!  She was in a rehab facility waiting for surgery last Aug 2020 until May 2021 when she had hip replacement surgery.  Something happened & the ball didn't stay in place.  Waited until June and had 2nd surgery.  Back to rehab and has been working since June to get back use of her leg because it was unused from Aug 2020 until after 2nd surgery in June 2021.

Bless her heart, she's been away from home since Aug 2020 and will finally go home Oct 20th 2021. She is still in wheel chair and rehab is helping her learn to use a walker and be stable.  She will have Home Health come in few times a week to continue helping her.  This girl has been thru a lot and wanted everyone to know how much she has appreciated the prayers, calls and cards.

Numbers are coming down but not in remission yet, so the treatments go on. When they say this is a fight they are right.

I read that 700K # in the paper this morning.  Hard to comprehend that # is just for the U.S.  And yet many still thing it's all a hoax.  Beyond what I can understand, so I won't even go there.

Got my flu shot last week and this next week plan to get my Covid booster at CVS down the street.

Glad to hear from you Paul and hope that you are getting some good reports back from your Dr.  I'm sure this whole pandemic situation is especially scary for you as you have bravely undergone serious cancer treatment for over 2 yrs.  I keep praying you will be cancer free soon and can give us a good update.

Everyone, please be cautious and use good judgement regarding safety measures, I don't won't to lose anymore friends to Covid-19.

One more downer post from me and then I hope to find positive things to write. 700,000 Covid deaths…equivalent to totally emptying Plano, Richardson, Frisco, Oak Cliff, McKinney, and Sachse. Put another way, 11% of the DFW metro wiped out. That is A LOT of friends and neighbors. Now that I have that off my chest, I resolve to be Mr 😁. Stay well everyone. I believe we are headed toward better days. Oh…did you get your flu shot?😷

Today would have also been Mike Merola’s 73rd Birthday. He passed away in August, 2019.

Speaking of covid shots I am getting my booster tomorrow and Bobby is getting his on Tuesday.  A couple of our friends here have already gotten theirs with no side effects.  Since I had none with the other two I am hoping this one goes just as well.  Most of the people in the hospital around here have not gotten their shots.

I hear ya, Sandy - it's a very sobering stat & reminder.  I, too, am very anxious to see all your smiling faces, in person, at the next mini.

I wish the folks who are prolonging this pandemic and avoiding the inevitable would get their butts to the nearest clinic for vaccinations ASAP!  As a reminder - they're also free!

Otherwise, they'll eventually succumb to a case of terminal dumb-a**, while we remain semi-isolated and vulnerable to all that afflicts our dwindling numbers.

I saw the photo and remembrance of Smokey Kimbrough on FB and it made me look at our list.  We have 106 classmates (that we know of) who have passed.  43 of them after our 45th Reunion.  Not sure why it stuck out, just a lot from Sept 2011 until Sept 2021.

Take precautions and stay safe, we're still battling Covid cases.  I sure miss everyone! [love]

Paul and Sandy,,,, I totally agree with y'all.  Like I said, Jimmie & I didn't have a choice to get a vaccine before we came down with Covid-19 and I am not about to buy it at Tractor Supply!   My heart breaks for the ones like us who got it early and did not survive.  I also hate how divided it is making our country.  I am forever grateful that  the emergency room doctor at Goodall Witcher Hospital prescribed what he did and when he did.  We are a much smaller situation that all of you who live in the metro areas.  My closest neighbor is not exactly next door.  Our stores are not as crowded and Amazon, Fed Ex, and UPS are very good about finding us!!  You guys be safe and maybe we can all get together soon.

You are right Karen, there are different types of Ivermectin. Some for humans and some for animals.  I was referring to the one people were buying from Feed Stores that's meant for animals.  It's too strong for humans!  Was meant for large animals.  ABC did a piece on the difference.

I'm so sorry you & Jimmie got the virus last yr before we even had a vaccine.  That's how Connie McKee died last November, no vaccine available yet!  Glad y'al'ls case was mild and not too serious. I know there are people who have been vaccinated & do all the right things but still get the virus.  Usually it's a mild case without hospitalization.  This is just a bad situation for everyone and unfortunately some have made it about which party you support.

Thank you for sharing your experience and how you got better.  Very thankful for that.

Karen,
Thanks for pointing out that there is a way to use Ivermectin properly. I had not heard that. All of us can learn something new. I still stand by the main focus of my post: Do the right thing for all of us, not just oneself.
